Sputnikmusic Year-End Contest 2014-12-10 by Jom | 33 Comments | Hi, friends!
For those interested, I'm going to run another year-end contest this year.
However, unlike last year, I won't specifically reveal what the prizes are, only what the Estimated Retail Price (a la The Price Is Right) will be.
The ERP of the prizes will most definitely not be $250,000. They won't be $60,000, either.
Predict the staffers' Top 10 Albums of 2014
Rules, important info, and optional hints in the mandatory "List of 5":
1) The winner will be decided by having the most correct albums overall (regardless of order). In the event that there is a tie (e.g. all 10 are on the list), the user who identifies the most
correct in his/her placement will win. In the rare event that users tie after that (i.e., they send me an exact list), whoever sends me his/her list first will win;
2) 23 writers contributed to the year-end list;
3) The prizes will include some artist merch, which will include either a hoodie or a t-shirt along with some other fun stuff. Please indicate the size you want in your submission;
4) Make sure you include your site username. No multi-entry, sorry! Winners will be contacted via that e-mail, so be sure to check your e-mails regularly!
5) Obligatory "Be nice" and "No cheating" rules apply. Users will be disqualified for being dicks and/or attempting nefarious, insidious (RIP /u/MichaelJordan) subterfuge.
Once again, I'll offer 3 levels of prizes this year (NOTE: all prizes do have something to do with music - I'm not sending you a blu-ray of Gigli):
GOLD PRIZE
Golden bag o' swag (ERP: $200), which will include a ~~mystery prize~~, 1 blu-ray, 1 CD/DVD combo, 2 CDs, and a ~~merch bag o' swag~~
SILVER PRIZE
Silver bag o' swag (ERP: $100), which will include 1 blu-ray, 1 CD/DVD combo, 2 CDs, and a ~~merch bag o' swag~~
BRONZE PRIZE
Bronze bag o' swag (ERP: $50), which will include 2 CDs and a ~~merch bag o' swag~~
I have no problem shipping to anywhere in the world. However, if you are in BFE and it's going to cost me some dough, it's going to take a bit for your prize to get to you (honestly, it's
gonna depend on how seriously your customs agent takes his/her job during the holidays).
Anyway, here's what you need to do if you're interested:

All you need to do is send me an ordinal list along with your site username and your preferred hoodie/t-shirt size.

There may or may not be additional hints laden throughout this news post.
The turn-around time on this contest is no joke, though (partly because I was unsure if we should do another one): all submissions are due Saturday, December 13th by 11:59:59PM
EST! All submissions are final, so choose wisely!
