That was a good song, not the best Dream Theater song, but a sing of good things to come.

I heard this ealier today. It sounds like something from train of thought

I was just going to say that StarClassic. It's very boring. Dream theater are a boring band. It all makes sense.

Sounds like something off Train of Thought, as Door Mouse said. Sadly, that album sucks.
|
| |
Sounds pretty cool

Sorta repetetve. Some parts were good though. I think the album will turn out fine.

it is an ok song, portnoy and petrucci are certainly doing more vox on this record

As a diehard Dream Theater fan I cant say Im pleased. This lacked a lot of the elements that made Dream Theater progressive metal, this sounded more like a generic metal song. But Im hoping thats why its the single, because itll be the most mainstream off the album. Thats why I always loved Dream Theater, they were the furthest thing from being mainstream. I still have high hopes for the album though.

It sounded better than anything i've heard off Octavarium (except Panic Attack). We'll see though...

I love Dream Theater, and this song is not going to be my favourite either, but it'll grow on me.
And yes, DT is so ripping off And Justice For All vocals on this one...The song does fit with the whole darkness theme though.
What I like about this is how it combines Awake-era stuff and AcoS era stuff (The opening riff is clearly from that period, but with better production), with a Metallica-esque sense of heaviness (while never actually ripping off Metallica; they pillage their ToT material). It reminds me of The Glass Prison at points.

Cool song

I thought it was a step down for DT.
Emphasis on thought.
I just realized I've already listened to it at least 6 times.

I noticed that the riff near the end is almost exactly like the chorus riff from "Alien Magnet" by Ghoulspoon.
Useless fact.

This song was very reminiscent of Train of Thought, which makes me personally one very very happy Dream Theater fan!!This Message Edited On 04.30.07
