J Mascis album + tour details 2014-06-11 by tommygun | 15 Comments | Dinosaur Jr. frontman J Mascis has announced that his second solo record is due on August
25 this year.
Tied to a Star was recorded and produced by Mascis himself and contains guest
appearances from Ken Maiuri (Young@Heart Chorus), Pall Jenkins (Black Heart Procession),
Mark Mulcahy (Miracle Legion) and Chan Marshall (Cat Power).
Sub Pop Records have released a hard hitting interview with J alongside the first track
'Every Morning', which hints at a more upbeat direction in comparison to 2011's Several
Shades of Why.

| | | i hope this new album has some real stripped back cuts like too deep, that was a hard grower got better every time
| | | j mascis doesnt need to shred to rule
| | | agreed
also dug the heck out of very nervous and love
| | | Album will be great
| | | Shweet, J's solo stuff is actually pretty good.
| | | Song is nice. It's a pity that its verse is very closely related to the chorus of a B side from the last Dino Jr album sessions. Redundancy has been a growing problem of J's songwriting ever since the band reunited.
Hey, at least this sounds fresher than anything since Farm. That's not bad. Will probably enjoy nevertheless.
| | | i should try and see him since im of age now
| | | "Sub Pop Records have released a hard hitting interview with J"
lol how did they manage to pull that off
| | | watch it dude you'll understand
| | | seems the same as every other interview he's done except not about music hahaha
| | | yea the 'hard hitting' part is tongue in cheek :]
funny kid twisting j's hat
