I know this album is probably old news to some, but here's the official stream for those who haven't had a chance to hear it

Thanks for posting and the album is no old news at all. Imho, the same goes for any album issued during the current year.

I bought the shit out of this album today. I absolutely love it. Insomnium is one one of those bands
whose sound might never change much, but whose music remains largely unhindered by their
predictability. Originality is often overestimated and can easily lead to pretention and idiotic
stylistic decisions. I'll gladly spin a hundred more albums like this one.

Incidentally, while the cymbals are still a bit faint overall and things get a tad muddy during the
heaviest sections, the production on Shadows of the Dying Sun tops anything the band has ever
released. This is a very welcome change.

The Promethean Song and Revelations are amazing songs. Album is sounding really good.

The album version of Ephemeral is so much better than the single.

sounds pretty good so far.

So this is pretty damn good. I still hold that it's essentially the same formula, albeit with more atmosphere and a greater attention to including subtle details here and there. 4/5 on its own merits but I really want to hear something new from these guys.

I do not regret getting this album. At all.
