Titus Andronicus Album Concept

2014-03-03 by limestonemiler | 22 Comments
Titus Andronicus vocalist/guitarist Patrick Stickles outlined his concept for the band's next album in an interview done last year. The LP will be a 30 song, multi-act rock opera that uses a science fiction storyline to explore psychological and philosophical themes, notably Stickles' experience with manic depression. Stickles claims that in comparison to 2010's The Monitor, the new album is being approached with greater ambition and will feature a faster tempo and more distorted guitars.

I feel like the mods should have a policy against posting news from almost six months ago.

Especially when it acknowledges that it's old news in the first sentence

If you're that upset about old news being posted, then post the news yourself when it first comes out. Or just don't complain.

Excited for this regardless of how old the news is.

Given the option, I would not have this listed on the front page. But, as ILJ indicated, it had not been previously reported and might be of interest to those who use this site as their source of music-related information. And if you feel it is a little too old, you're by no means obliged to read it.

This sounds like a good recipe for a complete train wreck of an album.

this will either be completely fucking amazing or a flop of epic proportions. still only heard the monitor in full, but based on the strength of that I back these dudes to make it the former. in stickles we trust.
