Band absolutely rules, if any "core" elements conspicuously enter their sound now heads will roll

more post-hardcore than pop punk

Truth be told, a lot of their stuff fits the checklist for "post-hardcore" but they're most definitely a pop punk band. I guess they can be both but I don't come to these guys for post-hardcore, so whatevs.

they're pop-punk with a lot of post-hardcore influence
but still pop-punk
Rise doesnt change their pop-punk band, just the metalcore ones

Rise has been absolutely crushing it lately, people shouldn't hate on them.
The Early November - last album was amazing
Further Seems Forever - last album was great
I can make a mess like nobody's business - last album was amazing
Memphis May Fire - last album was fantastic, best metalcore scene band or w/e out there atm easily
imo.

Sleeping with sirens has gotten really bad though...

DreamAgain you're right on everything except Memphis May Fire, their last album was super fucking shitty. Once they signed to Rise they've been going downhill fast.

Band is awesome, good for them. Even though I'd rather it be a diff label, band has been around a while so I doubt they'll compromise their sound. Lookin forward to "Death Chorus" -- omg they're already trying to be brootal

Rise has made some great signings over the past year or so, they seem to be a good label business wise as well

^ that's right, but the problem here is that every new album has an avg rating above 4.0

actually, if you look at the charts of this year, you'll see that only 40 new albums have an average above 4.0

I used to always get Memphis May Fire and Maylene & The Sons of Disaster confused, so I always thought MMF was a southern-influenced metalcore band. Was rather disappointed to find out they're just another generic chug chug/clean chorus band

Every song gets a breakdown.

And you get a breakdown. And you get a breakdown. And EVERY BAND ON THIS LABEL PLAYS THE SAME BREAKDOWN.

Fuckin risecore

Hope they don't change but I'm slightly skeptical considering Man Overboard and Transit's latest. Although you never know how much influence/control Rise had on those records. We will see regardless.

So happy for these guys. Clash Battle Guilt Pride is one of my all time favorite records, and it is criminally underrated in the modern punk/pop punk scene. Absolutely cannot wait for the new record.

Memphis May Fire's last album was good, I never said it was their best. Obviously I'm not the only one who feels that way around here looking at the reviews, 4.5.

The Hollow is their best and guess what, that's a Rise record.

Well I didn't like either of those records but I said that I don't know if Rise were to blame for those albums since I don't know how much control they have over their bands' creativity and song writing. I'm not a Rise hater by any means. Rise has released great pop-punk with The Early November, Make Do and Mend, Sharks, older Transit, and others. I was saying recently they were a swing and a miss. Don't get your panties in a bunch dude.

Skoop

My ratings don't matter most of them are from when I first joined the site and was rating everything 1's or 5's. That doesn't change the fact that CBGP is a very good record and in my opinion just as good as the first two.
