Huh. I didn't see this coming. I knew he's done comics before, but I didn't think he would be doing comics for DC of all people.

By the way, his design of the Joker kinda reminds me of the rendition seen in "The Batman", only with more needless design choices/gimmicks.

I'd gladly read this if it happens, it sounds interesting.

where has it actually been confirmed that he's gonna work on this series now? as far as i've seen, he's only said that he wanted to work on it five years ago and was never able to.

Yeah this was a graphic novel approved in 2011 but Way got too busy and couldn't do it. I doubt it'll see the light of day anytime soon.

where does it say that, andcas? he's busy with umbrella academy shit right now, plus he wants to do a killjoys comic, so he isn't exactly out of work. and besides those concept pieces, he never even started it, as far as i know.

I googled it and hit feelin lucky and it said andcas

to my understanding he is completely busy doing Killjoys with Becky Cloonan (fantastic artist). I'm sure DC's approval still stands but other than a few concept images and whatever bits of script I'm sure he has, it still has a ways to go.

He's actually a really good comics writer if you've read Umbrella Academy. This could be a hit or miss, I guess.

batman looks way too stiff in those sketches. this is gonna be terrible. but congrats on the creativity outlet.

so long as people get it's an Elseworld title (more or less), I can't see why it won't be enjoyable, if it comes out.

Out of canon or not, this still looks pretty lame. It just seems like the conclusion one would come to if you asked yourself: "What would a Batman arc look like if it was to be sold exclusively in Hot Topic?" I actually like The Umbrella Academy, but a lot of its appeal has to do with being original.
