This is really lame. Obscura is one of the best, most unique and most technically challening death metal albums ever made.

| |
omg rip
|
| |
Shit, this guy was a huge factor in why Gorguts became as good as they are.
RIP.
|
| |
Two musicians from two of my favorite bands I find are dead over the course of one weekend. It really gets you down.
RIP and I'm sure nearly everyone's thoughts are with his family and friends, mine certainly are.

Damn that sucks.

Listening to Obscura now. This guy played with the genre's DNA like a kitten with a ball of yarn. Very creative and influential. RIP.

There will never be another Obscura or Purulence. FML
|
| |
^ props for mentioning Purulence
goddammit...RIP
|
| |
Jammed Obscura in his honor tonight. m/
This also makes me more likely to go see Gorguts at the end of June, even though Steeve hasn't been involved with them for a long time. He was supposed to have gotten Lemay to reform the band, so it seems I owe him for the chance to see them.
|
| |
Really bummed right now. Rip. time to break out the wisky.
|
| |
Everyone hacked on me on Death's Facebook page for saying I might not buy a ticket because Gorguts wasn't opening the Atlanta date. Looks like they deleted all my comments, though. What a sense of entitlement.
|
| |
Can we stay on task here
|
| |
Well, it doesn't exactly come across as supportive of Death to say that you might not come depending on the opening band, which is probably not something they're going to change, lol.
Probably wiser not to air such sentiments, considering, if I recall correctly, Eric threw a huge fit on the FB page over some troll e-mail he received not too long ago.
|
| |
I agree with Vesper. What were yOu thinking
|
| |
Maybe you're right, but it's not Death. I don't go on Queen forums and harass everyone who doesn't want to buy a ticket to see them with Paul Rodgers.
|
| |
If only the world was smart enough to realize that.
|
| |
Eh, that's kind of different, since that was a collaborative main act, not split opening act duties, and has more to do with objecting to Paul Rodgers, despite, I assume, loving and wanting to see Queen (even though no amount of not-wanting-to-see-Rodgers is going to bring Freddie Mercury back).
Implying that you're not really interested in seeing Death because it's not really Death without Chuck on Death's FB page probably was somewhat insensitive, considering this is supposed to be a charity tour in memory of Chuck, knamean?
|
| |
This is awful. R.I.P. amazing musician.
|
| |
Rip
|
| |
Such a great guitarist. R.I.P.
|
| |
oh no whatever shall we do
|
| |
RIP
|
| |
R.I.P. Would play some Obscura right now if my earphones weren't broken.
|
| |
^ all good i'm picking up your slack
|
| |
"Fuck this dying thing"
hahahah brilliant -- your precious death metal wouldn't exist then
|
| |
Anything can be construed as insensitive when every other post on that page is plebeians going, "RIP CHUCK!!" I kind of think it's immature and arrogant to look at anything I said as disrespectful. Death's catalogue obviously rules, but that lineup with Obscura's vocalist is (to borrow from the great David Lee Roth) like a hot chick with bad teeth.
|
| |
Yeah, so just don't go. It would be like going on a date with said hot chick with bad teeth, and being like, "Hey, if you bring that hot friend of yours over there with the full set of nice teeth, then we can have a threesome, but if it's you, your fucked up grill missing the two front teeth that had Chuck Schuldiner etched into them, and Kelly Schaefer sucking my dick - no deal."
They're not going to change the opening act and Death will never be Death without Chuck, so I don't really see the point of saying something like you would go if they did switch out Atheist for Gorguts - you're pretty much just going on the page to say you're not going.
|
| |
But I might go -- if the show still happens. The point was that they were trying to get people to buy tickets over the
weekend to justify the additional tour dates. I jestingly said that I'd buy a ticket for sure if they'd add Gorguts to the
Atlanta date. And then everyone just got offended that I thought seeing Cynic play Death songs isn't enough to justify me
buying a ticket immediately.
|
| |
tell them to foad
