"Dirty magic" sounds like "have you ever" on americana. I liked "rise and fall," as long as this record is not a new "splinter" I'll be happy.

Rise and Fall was average , I will check this out but I doubt there is something as good as americana ,ixany and Smash.

being that the offspring were the first band that really got me into music, i'll pick up a copy for
sure, but after the shitheap that was rfrg my expectations are hella low. honestly, that album was
shockingly bad and poppy as hell, especially after splinter saw them put out some of their heaviest,
most aggressive tracks ever. and probably what gets me the most is that not only is the title track a
straight "times like these" rip, but that they're embracing it and making it the lead single. i'll
listen with an open mind, but will be shocked if this is more than a 2.5 in my book (and i have 4 of
their albums at 4+).

Music from the trailer sounds like shit.

Ah man, they ripped off Foos - Times Like These! Oh Offspring what are you doing?! If you can't write pop classics like Pretty Fly or Want You Bad anymore, then go in the opposite direction and get back to your punk roots!

My two cents (and i'm probably gonna get wailed on for this) they should do a cover of Waiting Room by Fugazi, maybe recording some of that stuff will get them back into a good writing frame of mind!

the last album was a little inconsistent but it had some great tracks

Hammerhead was legit. You're Gonna Go Far Kid and Truism are not only solid tracks on the record but theyre great live.

Chances are most of you will hate the rest of it/hated the rest of it but I think if youre OK with their discography post-Americana, there hasn't been much to hate.

^lololol yea maybe i'll feel better about myself when i've made over 21,000 posts on some website hoping my stabs at humor will impress a series of strangers i've never met. and go listen to the noose, never gonna find me, da hui, and lightning rod off splinter. those tracks are easily some of the most hard-hitting ones they've ever done.

@theacademy, guy you're def. a complete fucking loser if you really take time out of your day to actually recognize so many usernames on a website that you immediately know certain lists and shit from them. and btw i realize my top singers list was BY FAR not the best singers out there skillwise, but it's just who i was digging as singers at the time (several months ago at this point). despite that, i still stand by my position that singers who only sing are not musicians. legit nearly anyone could take a badass sabbath riff and turn in into a good song cuz the actual musicians in the band laid down such a killer track. and it's not that i never listen to bands where the singer only sings, but when the singer tries to act like some fucking diva and like they are the most important member of a band (i.e. steven tyler, brian johnson, ozzy osbourne, ian gillan), they just look like retards. maybe it's because i actually play guitar, drums, keyboard, and bass that i realize that if i were to take one of my orig. songs and just hand it over to some asshole to sing over it and he tried to act like it was his song just cuz he sang on it, that'd be bullshit. and i didn't "go away" cuz of any negative comments or anything, i just have shit going on in my life to the point where i don't spend literally hours a day on this website.
