Korn Record MTV Unplugged Set

2006-12-10 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 7 Comments
A leading fansite for the metal band Korn has issued an unconfirmed report that the band recorded their much-anticipated MTV Unplugged set last night.

Korn.Simpol.Net reports that the band played fourteen tracks at MTV's Times Square studio in New York including a cover of Radiohead's 'Creep,' the veritable go-to song for any alternative rocker with an acoustic guitar.

Korn had only played five acoustic songs in their entire career, according to the fansite, but last night they transribed a number of their biggest hits to the stripped-down medium, including the classic 'Freak on a Leash,' which featured the guest vocals of Evanescence's Amy Lee.

Other guests were expected on the night, including Linkin Park's Chester Bennington, however the only other confirmed appearance was by members of '80s rockers The Cure, who guested on 'Make Me Bad and Come Back.'

Korn's MTV Unplugged set is due for release in early February.

A full setlist for the show can be seen at Korn.Simpol.Net.

I don't care about "Freak On a Leash" as long as this acoustic version has a good ambience to it. Amy Lee would probably be good at singing the pre-chorus. As for the cover of "Creep", I say KoRn are the best band when it comes to covers. They've made good renditions of "Wicked", "One", and all three parts of "Another Brick in the Wall" and their cover of "Low Rider" is just hilarious.

No. They did not cover Pink Floyd well at all.

That is blasphemy.

"the classic 'Freak on a Leash,'"
XD Classic.

Despite "Creep" being one of Radiohead's worst songs, it is still Radiohead, which shouldn't be covered by anyone, let alone KORN.

Korn: Unshucked... lol. It's almost as if someone was trying to make them sound worse than they already are... which is already the worst band on the planet.

Another brickin the wall was one of the worst cover songs, probably tied with Sheryl Crow's cover of Sweet child.

Amy Lee may be cute, but her band sucks.

This unplugged is probably gonna be the worst album ever.
