Surely, there is not "too much post-metal right now". What's more, this band has its unique style. This news sucks.

They mixed the sludge with psychedelia and world music, something only Neurosis have done, and only a few times. Minsk based their sound on it, and it was really coming into their own on their latest album. Let's just hope it won't be their last.

band was pretty good, nothing groundbreaking but the two albums i heard were solid post-metal

All their albums were pretty solid. Nothing groundbreaking, I agree, but quite different than the rest of post-metal. The main distinctive factor is the psychedelic influence. They provided their own approach to the genre, and this is why they deserve checking out by every post-metal fan. Personally, I like listening to their music before I fall asleep, it's so calming. I'm kinda sad that possibly they will not put out another release.

I think I'll listen to two of their albums tonight. :]

Yeah, their last album really had me. They were in the vein of Neurosis, but at the same time, had their own vibe going on with the tribal addition. This is too bad, but I am sure Sanford is busy as balls recording bands.
