Forgettable but at least it's not as phoned in as Underclass Hero. I think we're pretty much done with this band these days yeah?
|
| |
Cool verse underwelming chorus. Scumfuck was better.
|
| |
TheGreatFedora...Agreed.
They should stop so I can listen for nostalgia sake.
|
| |
Not bad. Not great. I like it though.
|
| |
stupid myspace
|
| |
song's not too bad
but i don't see it being a strong single
|
| |
I lost all respect for Sum 41 after underclass hero. Predicting the album will be at best a 2. Ugh.
Digging: Zach Bryan - With Heaven On Top |
| |
i've got it dibbed. Personally, i think they will pull out a 3-3.5 for some reason
divorces empower frontmen afterall
|
| |
maybe. i'd be shocked if i end up liking it at all.
|
| |
Never really liked these guys that much. I did hear Underclass Hero. I didn't think it was terrible. Not really any good though.
|
| |
I don't see this being any good what so ever.
|
| |
Thought was bad at listen #1 but now I think it's not too bad... but enough to be a single ???
Hope the album be better....
|
| |
Gross.
|
| |
I didn't have high expectations, but this... the new album is bound to suck.
|
| |
^
You've got that right. This is like the tween band of the early 2000's.
Their time has past. They should call it quits, or make more since like Pieces. But, that won't happen.
|
| |
FAR better than stuff in Underclass Hero. Good to see they're back on track.
|
| |
Hate this band so I could careless for the song.
|
| |
what the fuck? i tried to submit this news story like 5 times over the past 2 days and it gets totally ripped off (like the paragraph and everything) by some staffer. either way though, i'm really digging the song and am probably one of the few people on here who really give a shit about sum 41. this new album's supposed to be a mix of chuck's heaviness and underclass hero's songwriting, so i'm predicting big things for this album.
|
| |
this actually is not bad at all... i wonder what the rest of the album will sound like.
|
| |
@brownboy - the band has described it as far heavier than underclass hero and the darkest, most agressive thing they've ever done, so here's to hoping the rest of the album is great too. apparently there's gonna be like a 12-minute long song on the album too so they're definitely stepping it up risk-wise this time around.
|
| |
band is a lost cause
|
| |
could the drum production sound any worse?!? jesus christ
|
| |
I actually enjoyed that.
@sublimefan1991
I've tried to post articles more than once and it has been taken by staff as well.
Digging: Lychgate - Precipice |

I haven't listened to them since Does This Look Infected. What the hell happened? This is awful.
|
| |
It's not terrible. The guitar solo is rockin.
|
| |
@nash - glad it doesn't happen to just me i guess, quite b.s.
|
| |
used to be my favourite band back in the day.... then brownsound left and they started to suck.
and now here we are. LOL
|
| |
Actually not bad, significantly better than most of Underclass Hero at any rate. Expect a listenable album at the least.
|
| |
You know, im gonna buck the trend. This was good power-pop-rock-punk-whatever you wanna call it. Although it ended poorly
|
| |
didn't know these guys were still around
and it wasn't even a terrible song.
i am 12 wut is this
|
| |
All their songs sound the same!!
|
| |
theyre the new ac/dc ay
|
| |
I saw them at Warped over the summer and had a blast, since they only played pre-UH songs
Album will still suck though
|
| |
Yeah but at least ACDC had a good sound for a while though.
|
| |
scream bloody gore - death
|
| |
Come on guys this is actually good
|
| |
Wasn't a bad song actually
|
| |
they're nothing without "Brown Magic" or whatever they called their old guitarist
|
| |
"then brownsound left and they started to suck."
Brownsound. thank you
|
| |
"All their songs sound the same!!"
that's so false. their sound varies a ton from album to album. aknf was pop-punk. dtli was mostly punk w/ maybe 2 or 3 pop-punk songs. chuck was straight up punk/punk-metal w/ a few ballads and zero pop-punk songs. underclass hero sucked dick and they got pop-punky again, but still sounded alot different than their old pop-punk stuff. they're very diverse, and are a fucking good band and i hate when people just write them off w/o actually listening to their stuff beyond fat lip and in too deep.
|
| |
hmm just finished listening to this song, it was actually really good maybe I'll give these guys a chance to steal my heart again like they did way back in grade 7
|
| |
Needz moar brownsound.
|
| |
I thought this band sucked in junior high.
|
| |
I might end up 3.5ing this
|
| |
all these comments and not one about the avril/deryk drama =/
(referring to the picture of what many assume to be metaphorically avril)
iamdissapoint i thought we were all 12 years old still >.>
song was alright, but i let underclass slide figuring they needed to get used to making music without brown sound, but here we are and its never been anymore clearer that brown sound was what made sum41...
its alright tho,
now all we need is some new blink songs, but its just me but i feel it will be much worse than the new sum41 stuff
|
| |
@jeffry - it's actually probably a pic of their new guitarist, "brown" tom thacker, who has worn that outfit for a few shows this past year.
|
| |
New Amon Amarth this year? Right on
|
| |
brownsound made this fkkin band obviously
song is decent, a helluva lot better than anything on UH
|
| |
"I thought this band sucked in junior high."
Yeah me too, I was into all the other pop punk (Green Day, Blink, yellowcard, Living End, Offspring) but these guys never did it for me apart from the hell song and a couple of others.
|
| |
Meh...this song's good enough. Judging from this and "Skumfuk", the album will probably pull out of the battlefield with a 3.5 tops (they'll probably end up with a 3, but you never know...).
|
| |
That was a pretty sweet riff. Scumfuck was better though, Balls was right. Alright song though.
|
| |
I kinda like the song, not worth the download for me that is.
|
| |
band will never kick as much ass as they did when they released chuck.
but this is still a giant step in the right direction from underclass hero. but that really isnt saying much..
|
| |
this reminds me so much of black parade-era my chemical romance
|
| |
lyrics aren't emo enough to be compared too MCR.

WTF, song wasn't that bad. More hopeful for the album after hearing this than I was after hearing "Scumfuck."
|
| |
Quite honestly, I am pretty surprised that Sum 41 is still around. These guys don't do anything for me, but it's encouraging to see them stick it out if they still have a passion for making music.
|
| |
I thought the song was a refreshing step back towards Chuck. I've got high hopes for the album
|
| |
the song's not that bad, but not memorable... i haven't heard really any memorable songs from sum 41. they'll come and go like any other pop punk bands
|
| |
they're still making music?
|
| |
better than I expected with all the negative comments I read up here. I will definitely check the album when it comes out.
|
| |
Not bad at all... And I presume that wouldn't be the final mix as it sounds a bit tinny.
I liked Scumf*ck a little better, but they're both pretty good & I think this album will be more like what 'UH' should have been. Hopefully, this won't be 15 tracks at >50 mins. Short & sweet guys.
I still don't see the love for 'Chuck' around here. Great in theory & all, but bordering on plagiarism on multiple tracks.
