Sucks, but I'm sure JT threw down some nice bass work on the album.

| |
Damn, article completely slammed him.
|
| |
Dick move on Choy's part though
|
| |
Damn, this sucks.
|
| |
It's a shame and a dick move.
|
| |
The shots that Flynn and Shaefer are taking at Tony Choy are also ridiculous and unprofessional. I would've hoped they would be better individuals than that.
Death is not easy to cope with, but saying that Roger was the driving force behind the band AFTER HIS DEATH is ridiculous. It sounds like bellyaching and a poor excuse, can they still not get past his death 20 years later? I suppose this record would've been done several years ago if Roger was still alive...
This is very unfortunate, for everyone involved - including those of us FANS who have been waiting so long for this.

lol
|
| |
Damn he was a good bass player.
|
| |
Dammit, this sucks. Even if he didn't write much material, as said in the article, he was still one of the best bassists in the genre. It'll be tough to find a fitting replacement, but I'm still very excited for the new album.
|
| |
^ idiot
they should try and get hold of steve digiorgio or something
|
| |
who? lol
This band makes some great music, you wouldn't know.
|
| |
oh yea your right because I dont like one single good band.
This seems to be correct.
I'll check them out if they are good as you seem to say.
Please don't, I actually like Atheist.
|
| |
lololol haha tony choy lol who is he lol I found it funny hohohaha when I dont know who people are lol lol lol
stop saying lmao in every fucking sentence and go back to the emmure thread, then we can ignore all you're stupid posts.
|
| |
Honestly andcas, if you haven't heard of these guys before you REALLY need to get out. Their one of the Classics of Metal up there with DEATH, Cynic, Morbid Angel, and a whole mess of others.
Sucks that he's is quitting on us, I listened to Unquestionable the other day and I remember the Bass really popping out and being one of the best parts of the album. : (
|
| |
"It's not well known to today's fans that Roger actually wrote all the bass tracks just prior to his ultimately sad and tragic death and deserves the credit. Tony simply played what was written. However, the public perception has become distorted over the past two decades."
Article goes on to slam Tony pretty hard, no love lost here perhaps.
|
| |
Man, Elements was my personal favorite Atheist album, and i'm pretty sure Choy had a bit more to do with the songwriting there. I hope some more of his influence finds its way onto this record.
And while it was pretty strange for Tony to do that, this article screams "i want public fued for publicity". Wtf is with all these bands publicizing all their internal drama? Couldn't they just have left it at "Choy left abruptly"?
|
| |
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
|
| |
Scathing statement. Sketchy spelling.
|
| |
Some others have had my same thoughts...
Why not just say, it was unexpected, it was right before our recording, we're frustrated. NOT that he never helped us in anyway, he only slowed down the songwriting process, and that he deserves no credit for what he's done...
Ridiculous.
|
| |
maybe it was all true and this is just a chance to vent their anger. who knows.
