One of the best metal bands around today...so stoked for this. Precambrian and Aeolian are ridiculously good, hopefully this follows suit.

Okay, now I'm disappointed that none of these samples have any vocals. I WANT TO HEAR THE NEW VOCALIST.

Wow, The Origin Of Species sounds ridiculously good, but those lyrics are sort of lulzy.

Their lyrics have always been kinda lulzy just look at "Dead Serious and Highly Professional."

yeah, Aeolian had wtfman.jpg lyrics, but the second disc on Precambrian had excellent lyrics. The lyrics to these songs don't seem as complex as that disc. Hopefully the new singer won't disappoint.

They got a new singer? Damn didn't know that.

They should've just stole Aaron Turner.

The music sounds like they'll incorporate a lot of jazz. If those are the lyrics, they're not that bad, looks like they're taking a religious/planetary approach to it. The Renaissance-esque artwork in the site is great too.

This got me so stoked.

hmm two albums in one year. that doesn't sound like a good idea really, hopefully they don't run out of ideas for #2

It might be like Precambrian since that was two albums in one. Basically the Mezmerize/Hypnotize idea.

ya but Precambrian was like an EP + full length released together

heliocentirc is being released in March, Anthropocentric in October. Sounds like 2 full lengths. Would be awesome if they get aoty and second album of the year though lol

Fluxion and Aeolian were supposed to be a double album release, but stuff happened that interfered with that. Both those albums are colossal too. Aeolian is The Ocean's heaviest release yet, pretty much Precambrian disc 1 but better.

Heliocentric? Isn't that a chemistry term or am I just really dumb in science hahahaha. Either way, their concepts are very well presented. This sounds good so far.

Fluxion and Aeolian were supposed to be a double album release, but stuff happened that interfered with that.

Financial stuff. The bands ideas are so grand that I don't doubt in a million years that they have to dummy some of their ideas down because of the mighty dollar. Kind of sucks being a great artist with huge ideas.

Heliocentric is the term that refers to things that revolve around the sun or a massive star. Helios/greek god for the sun, and centric = center duh.

FadeToBlack
January 31st 2010

means something where a star is the centrepoint, so basically a solar system or something like that

edit: but Relinquished explained it better lol

DUHHHHHHHHH Wiz so dumb. That just means this album is going to be even more grand in scope. It's like they're making a concept out of their entire discography.

holy hell holy hell holy hell best news in a LONG time.

I really like the Heliocentric/Anthropocentric concepts (heavens as center vs. man as center, religion vs humanism it sounds like from the song titles and the lyrics that I've read so far).
