Tool Show Goes Out Of Control

2006-08-09 by Stormy Smiley Face | 20 Comments
"Step back so you don't get trampled, it's only rock."

Tool frontman Manyard James Keenan had to tell this to a crowd this past weekend in San Diego at the 22nd Street Scene Festival. It wasn't the only time he had to tell the crowd to calm down.

Several people ended up in the hospital, but only one was for life-threatening reasons. The total number of persons that went to the hospital after attending the concert appears to be seventeen.

The 22nd annual Street Scene Festival is the same one in which pop-punk band My Chemical Romance would have played if not for the car wreck the band was involved in which mainly injured Gerard Way (singer) and Bob Bryar (drummer).

Lupe Fiasco was supposed to perform at the concert, but he was also involved in a car accident. No word on whether, or not he suffered injuries however.

I don't understand why all these concerts are getting out of control such as tool. I like tool but they aren't much of a mosh band to me. I can understand getting beat up at a metal concert I was just at one but at a tool concert, it somewhat mystifies me...maybe I'm crazy though

Im shocked that people could get that badly injured. I go to punk shows and hardcore shows all the time, and even if people get injured, its never been life threatening or even close to that. I find that really weird.

Seeing Tool live is a rare experience. At least it is in the Sacramento area, since tickets always sell out within 2 days. That's probably why people get crazy at Tool concerts. Not that I'm saying it's an excuse, it's still b.s. that people are getting this fvcked up at concerts. Gods, and I'm going to Family Values on the 17th. Well, almost dying will probably be worth seeing Dir en Grey.

Christ, people need to calm the fuck down. Whenever I'm at concerts I always avoid the pits because they seem so brutal. Turns out I was right.

^^^ 123 I like to be on the floor and sing along with the band and actually watch the band. I never been brave enough to go in the pit at the 2 shows that had them that I went to.

It's a real shame though to see fans of the same band hurting each other like that, even if it's not on purpose, if you knock someone down or something, the least you can do is help them up or something.

Here here. Next time I punch a guy in a mosh pit I'll help him up.

Honestly, what do these idiots think they're doing? Pits are stupid and the easiest way to have a lawsuit shoved up your ass (if not a dick at the moment).

Thats kinda wierd I would think Maynard would wanna watch them die from a good safe distance. Maybe he was afraid he'd get sewed or something.

Tool fans are pyscho. They aren't like other rock fans. Some people have like a religion based on Tool's songs. Kinda weird.
