its actually a kinda ok video. but it fits in to that 'we're a touring band with our hardships, but we overcome them' category

Video rocks imo, couldn't have made a better one for this song. It's also my least favorite song on the album though.

"long, boring songs? check

1. long, [subjective opinion] songs? ftfy
2. What? Many of the comments on this site seem to hate progressive music as a whole, and regards anything that turns instrumental and technical at the same time for >1 minute as "wank." So what would you rather have, the guitarist play power chords in the key of D major with a verse-chorus-verse-chorus-outro structure? Some people (usually musicians) actually enjoy hearing odd time signatures, instrumental solo sections, and crazy technicality. It's quite common in the progressive genre, dating way back to the pioneers.
3. What pretentiousness do you have evidence of? Or are you simply referring to "wank" and expanding your second point into an unnecessary third point? From what I've seen in interviews, the guys of this band are actually very nice (and modest) guys, but apparently you've seen different sides of them.
4. I think you mean "a lead singer that has a range." Vocals veering into high-pitched ranges are common in progressive music since Rush and Yes, and probably before. In this music, the singer's notes are used as a melodic instrument, rather than screaming (don't get me wrong, I love metal with screaming/growling).
Now, call me a fanboy as you will, but your arguments about "wank" and pretentiousness are very unguided and empty.
By the way, since you obviously didn't watch the video, and are just here to flame and whine, this song is a ballad with 0% "wank."

weirdass video and can't find myself in it - stupid rotterdam footage must have edited me out dammit! (I was 3rd row so maybe...)

I have a deep love for progressive music, the only problem is that Dream Theater stopped progressing and started sucking.

Bloc, almost funny
Kinda basic & neutral video, not too bad but not awesome either. The song's pretty pop-structured but I like it still. But anyways, DT's great. And it's funny how it seems the only stances you can take with DT are either "AWESOME" or "loltoolongwankery" ._.
