Audioslave Not Breaking Up 2006-07-27 by Stormy Smiley Face | 10 Comments | It was reported this week on Sputnikmusic that Audioslave were going to break up after their third album, "Revelations", hits stores on September 5. This is not true in the slightest way. Chris Cornell spoke on behalf of the band to deny the rumours and also talk about writing the theme for the next James Bond movie.
On the rumours of the band breaking up:
"We hear rumors that Audioslave is breaking up all the time. Even in the beginning, when we were having business problems, and we weren't necessarily going to be a band, we were still going to put out a record. We made a record and we loved it. I think that's where it starts — the idea that we sort of started on shaky ground. You would hope that by now, putting out our third record, people wouldn't be thinking that way or be worried about it. But it comes up. I always just ignore it."
On Cornell writing the theme to the "Casino Royale":
"I wasn't really sure about doing a Bond theme, because I wasn't really a big fan of the last several movies," he said. "And then I heard that there was going to be a new guy — Daniel Craig — who was going to play Bond. And he's so different. I have seen him in several movies, and I was kind of intrigued. So I went to Prague, where they were shooting the movie, and they showed me a rough edit of it. I was just completely blown away by it, because it's unlike any Bond film ever, really. [Craig] is an actor's actor, and there's emotional content to [the movie]. He's not like the swaggering, winking sort of super-agent guy. He's like a human being in this movie, and it's going to completely readjust the way people think of the character."

Am I the only one who can read? Audioslave isn't doing the theme song to the next bond film. Chris Cornell is WRITING it. He didn't even say he was going to be the one performing it or that if he is the singer that Audioslave will even be involved. It might just be him and a trumpet. Who knows? LOL.
