After the Burial Re-Record

2009-10-18 by Bitstream | 27 Comments
Apparently, feeling enough pressure, After the Burial and Sumerian records went back to the studio with a new vocalist (Anthony Notarmaso) to entirely re-mix, re-master, and re-record their latest album, "Rareform".

The album features not only an acceptable new sound, but bonus footage from their sold out Minneapolis show during the Crush 'Em All tour.

I always found their squeeky old vocalist to be endearing.

I guess now it can be a 2.5-3 instead of a 2.

Yeah, I was browsing Sumerian Records and I saw this, no one posted it, so I thought it should go up. I liked the album, and it's certainly a hell of a lot better now. Which, to most people, isn't say much at all.

They also recorded actual drums for the re-release. Sounds better as far as that goes, but I can't listen to this album.

a) very old news

b) rareform is, was, and will be great.

c) i prefer old vocalist to new about 60:40... notarmaso is kinda just hardcore hoarse shouting...

d) i saw these guys awhile back opening for ASP, and they were quite fun.

Is the difference between recordings really worth my time? I enjoyed Rareform (though not enough to be really into these guys)
