Not sure if the mods will let this fly, but I thought it was worth a shot.

Holy shit, I really hope that's true! I've been waiting for a new release from the 'tones for quite awhile now...
| |
I have yet to listen to the band sadly
| |
Hah, Stephen Carpenter listens to Tech 9.. i dig it. Tech's pretty dope.
| |
@Observer: Really? I just took a quick look at your ratings, and judging by your tastes you would probably like them. Check out White Pony, Adrenaline and their self-titled. I find those 3 to be their overall best records and the best representations of their sound.
| |
I waited too long to care when it comes (though Chi's accident was a good reason to have it set back), but when it does it will probably be great
| |
Alright, I'll put them on my list for sure.
| |
Well, according to this interview and other statements from the band that I've read, they have 2 records finished. The first one's called Eros, but they won't be releasing that until Chi comes back (assuming he does come back) and if he doesn't, I would expect it within the next 2 years. The other record, which is as-of-yet untitled, should be out by the end of the year (according to this interview).
Good news.
| |
shit
| |
Hell yes.
| |
They are putting out two albums, Eros (the album recorded with Chi before his accident) and a new as of yet, untitled album recorded with ex-Quicksand bassist, Sergio Vega. The latter will come out first with a single rumored to appear in the next two months.

| |
Isn't their bass player still handicapped or whatever?
| |
Haven't listened to their last record. Should i?
| |
I absolutely cannot wait for this. I am expecting an incredible album as always...they never dissapoint.
| |
MrPoopular: yes, you should. It's definitely more artsy/experimental than self-titled, but not quite as spacey as White Pony. Overall though, I rank it behind WP, S/T and Adrenaline. For me, it's about on par with Around the Fur.
| |
alright, thanks man
| |
nah, Saturday Night Wrist is their best after White Pony
| |
WORSHIP PLAYWORSHIP!
| |
...AND THE CROWD GOES WILD!!!!
| |
All their albums are ace if you ask me.
| |
"Isn't their bass player still handicapped or whatever?"

| |
Hexagram is probably my favourite album opener evarrrrrr!
| |
Pleasepleaseplease!

Well, let's hope this isn't bullshit.
Can't wait.

holy fuck his vocals are so awesome in that vid

I have yet to listen to the band sadly
Around the Fur is better than S/T and Adrenaline, and on par with White Pony IMO. SNW had some good tunes but generally lacking.
I would start with Around The Fur if I was starting from scratch with Deftones. Album rules!
| |
I started with White Pony, which to me, is their most rewarding album. From there I went back in time and got their albums in order- Definitely a band with an interesting discography and im very excited for a new release
| |
Pumped. Fucking ass pumped.
| |
S/T was always my favorite....the atmosphere is awesome and its really dark and heavy.
| |
all of them pwn hard exept Adrenaline really.
| |
Yeah, and even Adrenaline is alright
| |
Adrenaline used to be my favorite, back when I was younger (high school basically). I still think it's awesome. Around the Fur is probably my least favorite, but that doesn't mean anything, all their records are amazing.
| |
I'd put Adrenaline as my least favourite, and I still love it.
1. White Pony
2. Saturday Night Wrist
3. Around The Fur
4. Deftones
5. Adrenaline
