New Get Up Kids Material

2009-09-17 by Athom EMERITUS | 10 Comments
Seminal pop-punk outfit The Get Up Kids recently announced in an interview with the Phoenix New Times that they have recorded nine new songs that are currently in the process of being mixed. Specifics on the release are still unknown but vocalist Matt Pryor stated that due to the band member's other commitments they are "not really approaching it in the traditional "we're gonna put out a new record and do the touring cycle" way. We're gonna do more fun stuff, like good vinyl and limited edition releases. Cool shit, not just "here's the new CD."

Unfortunately, this band is far past their prime. Like Saves The Day and Taking Back Sunday, their first two releases (three is STD's case) are far and away their best. But they were so good it still merits checking these bands later work. And I liked Matt Pryors solo album, so again, I would like to check this out in one capacity or another.

"i dunno. I thought On a Wire and Guilt Show were great"

Yea but kind of in the way that the new TBS album was good. I enjoy them, but its different somehow.

Yeah I kinda agree with Miik they're all good albums but I feel like I wouldn't have like Guilt Show nearly as much if it hadn't been for On a Wire and Something to Write Home About. Regardless, all albums worth listening to!
