yea the cd is exactly the same sound/formula as their past stuff but it really is shredzilla in some parts. i like it.

Album grows on you. I've had it for a few weeks now and I really do like it. (I am a big TBDM fanboy, though).

I don't get why everyone hates this so much...In my opinion, good music is anything better sounding and more difficult than I can play. So I basically think this is awesome.

I don't hate it, I just don't like it. The dudes look like punk losers, yet claim to totally not be punk, which is lame. The vocals don't even seem serious, it's like he's dicking around on purpose.

Don't understand that hatred surrounding these guys, they are probably one of the heaviest and 'truest' death metal bands around these days that have a large fanbase, but they are still thrown into the same hatred boat as bands like JFAC and Suicide Silence, which i personally think is bullshit becuase BDM are amazing.

This is definatley an album you can metal out too.

I don't like the fact that they seem to have "given in" to the shitty punk scene in terms of their image. Metal is metal, punk is not. The idea of metalcore death metal leaves a bad taste in my mouth. That and like I said, the vocals sound like he's purposely dicking around. And there's not much melody. And it's the same thing over and over. And not in a good way.

I agree that they aren't an important band in the slightest, they are just a great band who make extremely consistent music. They are also one of the few American bands who don't overstretch themselves musically [partially becuase they probably have the best musicians in all of the newer american metal scene] so they haven't sounded sloppy in the slightest since 'Unhallowed.'

p.s. - i am not a deathcore loving scene kid, i just think bdm are a brilliant metal band.

They're not really important at all since death metal is getting more popular on its own, without them. Opeth, In Flames, JFaC, CoB, Dethklok are all comercially successful, and not at all accociated with the New Wave crap.

If JCF are dethcore then so is BDM. Same vocals.

Opeth might be prog, but it's still death metal, which is why their popularity is important to the increasing tolerance for death metal.

Job For a Cowboy are Deathcore, not Death Metal. And Opeth are more of a prog metal band than death metal

JFC aren't really deathcore anymore. Like srsly. Maybe traits of their old style, but not full-on deathcore.

TBDM are pretty much melodeath, with their older material containing some metalcore/deathcore influences (mainly breakdowns) and they are hardly the worst band ever formed and are slurring the name of metal. They are just average and uninventive.

However i found Unhallowed and Nocturnal enjoyable and fun. But this album just didn't work for me.

As far as the album goes, im not a totally huge fan of the band having a new guitarist, but i enjoy the majority of the riffs on the cd. It seems more technically proficient than the last. Again my opinion. Of course meaning a new guitarist means expect new methods for lead solos in there songs, which in my opinion are pretty different but yet still enjoyable. It does seem "I Will Return" is getting alot of the attention, for it captivated my tastes as well.

There are just some bands that, without any tangible reason, people dislike. This whole group just does "do it" for me, at all. It all sounds like the same stuff, each and every song. :-( I've tried liking them, but it just doesn't work out.

Are you replying to me? I was talking about JFaC, not BDM. JFC need to become disassociated with the metalcore "scenekid" scene, and the image it carries with it. Same could actually go for this band too, since way to many punk kids give this group an even worse name. It's one of those "if those assholes listen to it, it must be garbage" kind of things.
