The tracks aren't bad...but they aren't memorable or distinguishable from most other djenty metalcore, either.
| | | "The tracks aren't bad...but they aren't memorable or distinguishable from most other djenty metalcore, either."
This sentence could be used to describe everything they've ever put out sans Rareform.
| | | @MonotoneCulprit Fairly accurate, I'd say each album they've put out after Rareform has one or two great songs and the rest is listenable but unremarkable.
| | | So happy!!! These songs are crushing, so glad these guys are back!
| | | Evergreen was boring as shit so not very hopeful for new stuff
| | | Evergreen ripped. Honestly, these guys have always been pretty damn consistent with some genuinely great highs. Neither of these songs really did that much for me, but I will definitely check out the album when it drops
| | | Spiritbox seems to be the red headed stepchild in the scene
| | | I thought Evergreen sucked too at first but it grew on me
| | | I thought Evergreen was very solid, definitely not as great as Dig Deep but it had a ton of great tracks.
| | | Trent is an incredible guitarist too, but if you listen to Justin's demos you can tell that dude was a big part of the absolute riff machine that Rareform was:

R.I.P.
Agreed that a few songs on each release since have been excellent, but nothing has come close to Rareform
| | | That demo reel is still very sick, I miss Justin man
| | | more of the same, i guess their fan base will eat it up
| | | "The tracks aren't bad...but they aren't memorable or distinguishable from most other djenty metalcore, either."
I share your opinion
| | | I wish the term Djent never came into existence
| | | i really wish this band kept the same production they had on the Rareform reissue for all of their subsequent albums. the production on everything since then has really dragged down their music (imo)
| | | Wow those were forgettable.
| | | Never really got into this band, these are okay
I think I’ll check rare form
| | | nothing gold goes pretty hard!
| | | "I'd say each album they've put out after Rareform has one or two great songs and the rest is listenable but unremarkable"
This is spot on. Rareform rules, but they keep putting out mediocre albums with subpar production and these songs are looking to continue that trend
