These guys are the new Daughters minus the terrible frontman
|
| |
this is gonna slap every inch of the walls of your asshole
|
| |
Damn this is like
Probably the best Chat Pile I've heard thus far
Riffs chug more than BadlandChugs inhaling the ocean.
Also vox are frighteningly manic. I definitely think this still channels some of that Daughters-esque energy but with a distinctly crunchier sense of Doom/Sludge Metal imo.
|
| |
I really only hear the daughters mannerisms with the vocals, other than that this is nothing like daughters imo
|
| |
Yeah I suppose you're right. Definitely gives that livid drunken preacher vibe with the vocals but the guitar work feels overall grimier/distinctly more heavy
|
| |
“There’s a sick irony to how a country that extols rhetoric of individual freedom, in the same gasp, has no problem commodifying human life as if it were meat to feed the insatiable hunger of capitalism. If this is American nihilism taken to its absolute zenith, then God’s Country, the first full length record from Oklahoma City noise rock quartet Chat Pile is the aural embodiment of such a concept.”
oh fuck yeah
|
| |
band can do no wrong amps up hype up
and yes this is nothing like Daughters beyond shared Jesus Lizard vocalisations. let Daughters die thank you goodbye
|
| |
Love everything this band has released so far. Can't get enough of this guy's vox, and the sound is just so grimy and raw. Hits all the right buttons for me. And who else is talking about the decay and nihilism of post industrial mid America while giving a spotlight to alcohol and fast food joints. They really walk a graceful line between hilarious, depressing and really fuckin angry.
New track has more refined production than the rest, and it really sounds perfect to my ears. Not overly produced, still feels raw, but the instruments definitely feel more powerful now. That percussion hits so damn hard especially. Beyond hyped for album.

New Whores and New Chat Pile. What a time to be alive.
|
| |
Can't remember the last time I was this hyped for a band's debut LP.
"New Whores and New Chat Pile. What a time to be alive."
THIS. Now imagine them going on tour together...
|
| |
pretty hyped for the album, gonna be goooooood!
|
| |
Midwesterners should go see them on tour with Meth and Nerver this coming week!
|
| |
checking in, seeing them tonight
|

Fuck yeah, hope to catch them someday.
|
| |
Catching them tomorrow, hyped to fuck
|
| |
For once being American is worth it
|
| |
*for once being a midwesterner is worth it
|
| |
Been looking forward to this day so eagerly, track slays
|
| |
First song i have listened to after being very confused about this band, track rips hard and sounds absolutely nothing like Daughters lol
|
| |
btw Pjorn if you read this you guys killed it last night
|
| |
Just listened to the singers latest solo album as Randy Ruiz from 2019 and holy fucking shit man
https://randyrulz.bandcamp.com/
|
| |
Love this band man
|
| |
HAMMERS AND GREASE
|
| |
read the band's name as 'chart pie'
|
| |
If you’ve never heard anything like Daughters, this is basically identical. On the other hand, if your whole world is noise rock, then this sounds nothing like Daughters. I don’t know what my point is but people on both sides of that comment just sound dumb.
|
| |
I regret even bringing it up.
|
| |
No I actually agree with you because I got into Chat Pile shortly after I got into Daughters, and now that Daughters is gone, Chat Pile has take. their spot (in my library at least).
|
| |
For sure dude. The vocals just reminded me of Shithead, but the music itself is much different. Crustier, in a good way
