DVNE is awesome but not really comparable in style to Persefone. They sound more like sci-fi Mastodon.

They arent super similar but I think i prefer DVNE to these guys now. Persefone is a good band but i think im sort of done with them. This track feels like an Aathma b side to a degree.

And for melodeath be'lakor

And yeah I'll always love anything these guys do. Shame to see people "moving on" or whatnot, but it is what it is. I'll enjoy the album, probably, and I'll run about in my room in my Persefone shirt yelling lyrics until the apartment complex kicks me out.

When they shine Persefone are sooooo damn good but maybe its just the time between releases for me. May change my mind when the full record drops. And yea now that you mention it Be'lakor was strangely absent

They've always been pretty open about their ~4 year recording process. Some artists/bands need that time to really put their vision together I suppose, but in such a fadt-paced and massive market, I can see how they lose interest if some fans. For me, I think it just makes the eventual album reveal all the more exciting.

I won't write these guys off, but yeah Core was a masterpiece and it's been diminishing returns ever since. Shin-Ken took ages to grow on me tbf, so based on that I reckon this is the year I might finally 'get' Spiritual Migration, lol

You’re not alone in enjoying both the singles MarsKid - I’ve absolutely loved them both and could not be more excited for the new album next month. I totally agree with you about the anticipation between albums due to the long timeframe they take to make them; it just builds a sense of something really special when they release an album. Their current sound is a seamless evolution from Spiritual Migration and Aathma, which are two of my favourite albums ever. No doubts from me that the new album will be incredible.

Im going to jam Spiritual Migration and Aathma tomorrow and see if that gets me back on the Persefone band wagon.

I'm sorry, this song is just... aimless. The structure is... wonky as all hell, and even when it's as frenetic as it is, it still perplexingly manages to be too repetitious somehow. I am worried if I'll like the new album at this point. I hope it will grow on me, but rn, this is such a dud (and I wasn't huge on Merkabah either)

Yeah, the composition and structure of the song itself isn't bad but it fails to gain flow and just feels bland overall.

My expectations for the album are low but I'm still hyped af for Consciousness pt 3 tbh

Also... Persefone are a MELODIC DEATH METAL band, I know they exist but a melodeath song without a guitar solo really irks me. The peaks on Aathma, Spiritual Migration... pretty much all of their albums... are in the guitar solos/keyboard solos, and yes I am also looking forward to Consciousness Pt 3 the most.

Although that is a TALL AF order, Consciousness Pt 1 & 2 is an absolute sonic masterpiece, I have no idea how they will manage to follow that up. I very much hope that they will be able to blow my mind with this new album, I really really do. The feature list looks stacked as hell too, I want guitar solos with the signature Persefone sound to it that melt my face off, not a bootleg Jason Richardson riff played ad nauseum like someone previous said (which btw i think is REALLY apt LOL).

PLEASE LET THIS ALBUM BE GOOD.

Only 3 days left damn. Old me would be hyped af. Guess I'm getting old. The highs will probably be insanely high but I'm keeping my expectations low for the whole package.

I'm quietly excited. I'll write about it and leave it at that. I'm expecting to love it (surprise surprise) but wouldn't be surprised to see it be divisive or whatnot.

People who hated them will still hate them, people that enjoy them will probably probably enjoy them, no changes in that regard lol
