To be honest, I didn't hate the music on this.
|
| |
W]e can finally say, yeah, Led Zeppelin's obviously a big influence for us because we are not making music that sounds really anything remotely like that
|
| |
Oh hey they're kind of ripping off ELO now nice
|
| |
they no longer sound like Led Zeppelin, I'll give 'em that
This is more proggish? Like a less complex pop era Rush? idk
Not for me, whatever it is
|
| |
This jams!
|
| |
The vocal is borderline annoying
|
| |
Nothing borderline about it. Dude's voice rubs me the wrong way, especially that falsetto. The music is pleasant though and the melody decent.
|
| |
Where does one start with this band? Or don't? Idk.
|
| |
I would start with Led Zep I.
|
| |
They look like Musketeers
In all honesty, I really like these guys. I wouldn't even consider them a guilty pleasure at this point; I just dig them.
|
| |
Guitar riffs are pretty cool at some points, but it's still more unoriginal trash as expected from these guys.
Also I would rather listen to Wes Scantlin than this fucking singer. What a god awful grating noise produced by that dude.
|
| |
If that's a moustache I'm Nefertiti the III.
|
| |
Wow, what a time to make a pharaoh reference. I just had a loooong and pointless argument on facebook with a friend who believes that ancient Egyptians used advanced technology to build the pyramids as a tesla coil or some shit.
|
| |
Well at least they're not blatantly ripping off zep anymore but sheesh those vox
|
| |
Idk these guys just have a vibe coming off of em that I've never been able to get past, like I get the sense that they consider "preserving rock and roll" to be a much more noble pursuit than it really is and that kind of attitude pervades their music even when they aren't doing anything that annoys me on a sonic level
|
| |
He looks like that lifeguard guy from stranger things.
|
| |
can you feel my heart
|
| |
They went from cosplaying Led Zep to cosplaying Queen, it looks like.
|
| |
I agree with Kompys, Ttese guys might actually be more tolerable if them (and their fans) didn't act like they were doing some sort of noble service to society by "saving rock and roll"
|
| |
"can you feel my heart"

The singer will die of AIDS in 5 years I'm sure....
|
| |
These guys seem as manufactured as Kings of Leon were with that 70s look.
|
| |
christ thats a band name i was happy to have forgotten..
|
| |
somehow his vocals have gotten worse, fucking heeeell those yelps
|
| |
{doing some sort of noble service to society by "saving rock and roll"}
There's NO BAND out there today 'saving rock n roll', not even DAD GHROL and his merry cronies in the Foo Fighters.
|
| |
Music is interesting, never been a fan of the vocals, lyrics are cringy as hell.
|
| |
Isn't this like the third single so far?
Btw how can you guys say this doesn't sound like Zeppelin lol it's basically Your Time Is Gonna Come. However................................... I'm afraid I dig it, uplifting sounding song
|
| |

Basically for no reason. Thank you.

What in fuck's name are these men wearing
|
| |
this news article is what i live for
say what you want about GVF but at least they prove old school rock n roll can still hit the charts, and that rock can actually be rock without the stomp-clap imagine dragons knock off shit
|
| |
Imagine Dragons is unironically better than Greta Van Fleet
|
| |
[2]
I enjoy some Imagine Dragons
|
| |
GVF vs ID is like choosing between swigging a shot of urine vs swigging a shot of feces
|
| |
i guess the issue w this band is they're doing things that other people have already done much better decades before, so where is the appeal
|
| |
boomers who can't enjoy the modern (c)rap these days! bring back rock n roll! and the teens born in the wrong generation 😔
|
| |
>i guess the issue w this band is they're doing things that other people have already done much better decades before, so where is the appeal
not gonna lie you just described like half the metal bands lol
|
| |
"GVF vs ID is like choosing between swigging a shot of urine vs swigging a shot of feces"
I'll definitely have urine
|
| |
I feel like these guys have always tried WAY too hard to be like led Zeppelin. Now in my opinion they sound a lot like rush
|
| |
I'll definitely have urine [2]
Yeah, it'd be one thing if these guys did something fresh with this era of sound, but they'll probably just rip off one band after another and call it innovation. The tune didn't suck though. Vocals were kinda fucking ridiculous though. lol
|
| |
Yes they definitely have a Zepp sound and look, but can you deny that?? They are actually a very fucking cool band for this day and age! Their songs are extremely well put together, written and absolutely rock!! I see elements of the Who and hear Floydish riffs at times, even some Rush inspiration I reckon. These lads are carrying the torch of the best decade in Rock history very fucking high, and i for one stand and applaud such young hearts keeping the flame burning. The attention to detail is very well done! Steel Panther give us the 80s for what it was, Greta give us back the 70s. Rock on kids!!! you Rock!! Thank you.

What tender and delicious pasta
|
| |
I bet whoever wrote that is a pleasant guy to hang around with though. People who like shitty things > people who hate on good things. Not that GVF is good

Who the fuck cares? I wish I could rip off a band and get away with it.
|
| |
I'd rather listen to someone blow a kazoo with their puckered arsehole than watch that again.
|
| |
I listened to like half a song from the debut - well, that's been like Led Zepp lite, like people said all the time.
The new song is a lot like Queen.
I mean, they must be competent to some extend to create something like this, but this way they'll always be in the shadow of these legendary bands. No.t really interesting to me.
Also song needs more cowbell and kazoo
|
| |
they suck but the amount of grandstanding people do against this band is hilarious
there are bands more deserving of fiery rage
|
| |
Meh.

yt comment section highlights:
"GVF is giving us so much. True artists. I was a teenager in the 70’s and, believe me, the comparisons must stop. They have evolved what influenced them into their very own profound sound and vision. Jesus they are great.
"There’s something so celestial and magical about this."
"I don't know why, but this song makes me feel like anything is possible."
"That felt like a religious experience."
"I can't explain what this just did for my soul."
"Not in a very long time has a song brought tears of joy to my eyes. Thank you so much guys! Stay safe everyone in these troubled times."
"I’m gonna buy two vinyl albums of this new album. One to listen to and the other to keep in mint condition so when this band is very popular it will be worth some money"
"Listening to Greta is like falling in love with music all over again. You can hear the love and respect these guys share for music."
|
| |
in fairness i wish any music made me feel the way those septuagenarians feel about this band
|
| |
Objectively there were many people waiting for this.
|
| |
I wonder how the musicians Led Zeppelin ripped off feel about this band.
|
| |
I mean I would probably really like this if it wasn't Hail to the King level of "inspiration". It's not the same song but it's still a mockery of Zeppelin's Your Time Is Gonna Come
|
| |
I lasted 2 minutes and 24 seconds before my hatred of this song kept me from finishing.
|
| |
That voice is like if Geddy Lee was an all time bad singer. Ooph
|
| |
Kinda love the vocals on this. Song goes pretty hard, not even gunna lie
|
| |
this blows like Cape Town
|
