love the album art, but I can't say the song does a ton for me. Instrumentation is decent but Mike's vocals are still just as grating as they've always been to me. And the female vox are a bit too Evanescence-y
| |
vocals sound like ass yeah
| |
it just sounds like he entirely gave up
| |
Damn, Mike's vocal chords are shredded.
| |
also has he ever done clean vox before this track? he sounded decent on that chorus
| |
I thought Jeremy did all the cleans for this band
| |
I still like his vocals, but yeah, his voice is shredded. I enjoyed the songs that were of this style on Transit Blues and I still think To The Key of Evergreen might be their best song.
This chorus may be the most cleans hes ever done, yeah. They sound good!
| |
I actually really enjoy the second half of this song. Lights is awesome.
@Feather nah Daughter is their best song ez
| |
"I actually really enjoy the second half of this song. Lights is awesome."
!!!
Omg, I didn't connect that this was a lights feature! Explains why I enjoy it ...
Daughters is a great song on the album, but I thought Key was much more massive and interesting. Daughters felt a little cookie cutter (albeit done correctly!)
| |
Don't really care for Mike's vocals on that chorus, but the rest of the song is awesome; instrumentation is still as great as ever. Loved the Lights feature as well.
Also that album art is incredible.
| |
I must say, one of the greatest album covers I've ever seen. Need that on a shirt.
| |
Song grew on me after a few listens. Mike sounded good in the chorus.
| |
I've somehow never listened to TDWP much, they're a weird gap in my Christcore roots. Song was decent -- there were some good vocal moments (the cleans, the Jeremy Bolm-esque screams) and some really cringy ones (any time he tried to do a Micah Kinnard-esque half-scream, half-shout)
| |
This song is really meh
| |
This has grown on me since my first listen. Mike's vocals are so weird these days, sometimes it sounds atrocious and other times the strained sound actually adds to a section.
| |
Havent heard this band since Plagues.
This sounds, not like I was expecting. It's not good, but it's not god awful like I was expecting.
Artwork is awesome.
| |
very excited to hear this song/album
edit: not crazy about this one
| |
Agreed Mike's voice sounds fucked. Dude needs a year off.
| |
Shit! Didn’t realize that was Lights. Her part was good and the chorus was alright.
| |
Lights's part was wonderful. Any song with her featured is 10x better.
| |
that's not even Lights lmao. it's Sierra Kay from VersaEmerge
| |
Fuck his screams are trash now. Honestly couldn’t make it through the song because of them.
| |
Yeah, Mike's vocals have seriously degraded to the point of no return.
The artwork is fantastic tho. Wish they didn't include the damn text in massive letters like that tho.
| |
lol its as if people bitching at vocals havent listened to 8:18
you also do realize this is more of a stylistic choice right?
| |
Damn this is not the direction I wanted them to go. Still decent but not what I hoped
| |
This is actually killer. Also that album art is sick as fuck!
| |
I quite like it.
Artwork is sick
| |
This is like even worse BMTH
| |
The second half of the song is much better than the first half, idk how to feel about this one
| |
She sounds a lot like Lights. Thanks for the correction Hell!
The album artwork is straight up DM type shit. Hope there are some super heavy songs on the album.
| |
This is rad. The artwork is awesome, I would have never guessed it was a TDWP album based off the art.
| |
Album art reminds me of the little guys from Bloodborne. Messengers I think they were called?
| |
oh fuck yeah. I always give those little guys top hats
| |
I see you're a man of culture as well Trebor.
| |
I personally like his vocals here. They sound tortured in a good way and gives more variance to them. But I like all their stuff so.
| |
This is great, really great, but Transit Blues was impeccable, they can never top it.
| |
"that's not even Lights lmao. it's Sierra Kay from VersaEmerge"
Jayender why you making everyone look dumb dog!
| |
Song is great, cannot wait to hear the rest!! The album cover is awesome.
| |
I’m actually digging this more than Daughters for Transit Blues. The artwork is killer! Hope Mike sounds better in the rest though. Not my favorite from him.
| |
Yea, this is great
| |
Vocals are a bit rough, but I'm digging this.
| |
Perhaps it's the YouTube compression, but the song sounds so much better on Spotify than it does on YouTube.
| |
Come on bruh she sounds just like her
| |
Nothing spectacular, but this was good. I’m surprised how good Mike’s singing voice is.
| |
I'm really digging this song. As a self-proclaimed core kid who listens to anything with breakdowns and poppy choruses, I actually really love this song and I'm excited for the album. Didn't care too much for Transit Blues, although To The Key of Evergreen is probably one of the best songs TDWP has ever written.
| |
sounds awesome stoked for this
| |
These vocals are god awful. It's like a terrible attempt at sounding like La Dispute
| |
Lmao the vocals
| |
well at least the artwork is nice
| |
After quite a few listens I have to say this is awesome.
| |
Yeah I’m digging this but I do have a soft spot for these guys. I can’t wait for the new album, hopefully there are some heavy songs on here that brings back some of that Zombies style. The art makes me think it’ll be heavy as shit.
| |
Vocals aren't as bad as everyone's making them out. He's always been a bit inconsistent.
| |
I like this
Also agree w emim
| |
tl;dr Hranica sounds like Sykes and Kay sounds like Lights
| |
Hranica sounds like the baby t-rex from the second Jurassic Park movie
| |
Lmao
| |
HWAAAAHHHHHHH
| |
this shit is awesome yo
| |
His vocals sound stronger than ever in my opinion. Is is because of the spoken word? Spoken word sections kicks ass. everything kicks ass. I absolutely love this
| |
That’s Jeremy on the chorus, not Mike.
| |
I thought it was Jeremy. Don't know where people are getting the idea that Mike is singing the cleans now?
| |
I have no idea lol it’s obviously Jeremy, he’s singing it in the live videos as well.
| |
I actually really like it 🤷♂️
| |
Okay, I like it a lot more on second listen
| |
I dunno, his actual screams sound the same to me as they always have, he just does that soft -> scream thing now.
Song was pretty cool. I used to really dislike this band but they've grown on me. Probably because they actual stuck around and continued to improve over time.
| |
I love there new direction it suits them. Different might not be the same as there older albums. But I think it’s gonna surprisingly be good to the fans and new fans to listen to. Don’t get your hopes up on the first single. They chose Lines Of Your Hands as a single to there main core of the album. I bet there will be heavy songs but not many though. Keep your head up!😃
| |
Props to them though. They do seem like they switch little things up each album these days. Last album had spoken word and this one has a different style of screaming than Mike has ever done before.
| |
Jeremy absolutely killed this song. The chorus is so fucking catchy, it's been stuck in my head for a couple days now. Super stoked to hear the rest of the album.
| |
agreed that mike sounds beat but it actually works pretty well for this style lol. also super impressed by how much better jeremy's singing has gotten over the years. i think the album is gonna be solid
| |
The more I listen to it, the more i like it.
| |
first half garbage, second half great. let's hope the album is better overall. transit blues was a banger.
| |
I didn't like the new song. :c
Edit: okay it grew on me already
| |
Yeah it's pretty shit.
| |
This one rules tho so I'm still excited for the album
| |
Wait was there another new one? This one is awesome, I’m trying not to overplay it before the whole album drops haha.
| |
this one grew on me a little bit, not sure what to expect on the new album. where can i hear the other new one?
| |
KingdomLeaks my guys. Just look up their name the song is called Please Say No
It's growing on me with more listens, much like this one. Mike's verses are actually incredibly dark and moody. I dig them a lot.
| |
Okay song. Was hoping for something heavier.
| |
Please Say No sounds really good imo, supermoody, although it's a shame the second verse is just a repetition of the first, would be cool if they did something different there
| |
Yeah, think it'll grow on me. Still stoked for the new record.
| |
I'm on the fence. It's decent, but not as good as Lines. I'm really looking forward to the album though, I think this one is going to be the slow song for the album. Kinda like Louder Than Thunder from Roots.
| |
"I think this one is going to be the slow song for the album."
I suppose so too
| |
I like the "The poor are giving and the priests are taking" part, and when Mike does that high scream I really dig it. They keep having weak first halves and stronger second halves.
"Kinda like Louder Than Thunder from Roots"
One difference tho, Louder Than Thunder is dope
| |
This new song is the most atmospheric according to Mike. I don't like it as much as Lines of Your Hands. I have to hear the whole thing before I buy it.
| |
