Songs not bad, standard stuff for them.
Digging: Elder (USA-MA) - Reflections of a Floating World
This the band with the prog black chick? If so that is fuckin badass
Digging: Mic Geronimo - The Natural
Er, isn't this their 3rd single? They already released 'The Decay of Disregard' and 'The Banished Heart'. Super hyped for this album, band has huge potential after their uneven but promising debut.
Nice catch, Blind. Thanks.
Digging: Moongates Guardian - Leave The Northern Mountains
Digging: BUCK-TICK - No.0
decent track, their last album was grand
Digging: Carpenter Brut - Leather Teeth
It's by far the best vocal performance I've heard from Cammie Gilbert, and the song itself is beautifully melancholic and haunting. I'll be seeing the band as support for Epica on the upcoming UK tour in April, so I'm now even more interested to see how Oceans of Slumber translate to a live setting. I wasn't quite sold on their music before, but now having heard this particular track I'm intrigued to explore more of their work.
Digging: Rivers of Nihil - Where Owls Know My Name
Hyped about this.
Digging: Yamantaka // Sonic Titan - Dirt
anyone got dibs on the review? cause if not, I'll gladly jump in..
Digging: Hot Snakes - Jericho Sirens
I predict at least 2 reviews for this: manosg and linguist ;)
oookay then, putting it under "possible"
Actually I am sure Chamberbelain will cover it too.
"I predict at least 2 reviews for this: manosg and linguist ;)"
It's more probable that manosg will review it than me, given that he reviewed the previous Oceans of Slumber record and did a damn good job of the write-up too, as usual. Besides, when the album's released I don't know if I'm going to have time do do a write-up or not due to work/family commitments, etc. As most people on here probably know (who usually read my reviews anyway), my reviewing schedule as been pretty patchy and inconsistent over the last couple of years or so.
Anyone's welcome to review anything, is what I'm really saying here.
I want to like this but they don't have any catchy elements to their music.
Feel free to review it guys if you wish. I'm not sure if I'll write something for it as I generally not like reviewing albums by the same band. I'm sure both of you will do a great job.
I was half-joking, of course, the more reviews the better. I don't even have a schedule so I have no idea if I will cover it but my guess is that I probably won't.
Yup, rarely have a schedule. Most times it depends on whether an album "speaks" to me.
