Great album

Already think I'm gonna like this more than Burials
|
| |
It leaked. There are a few lackluster tracks for sure, but this is miles better than Burials
|
| |
The album is fucking awesome
|
| |
New song is great, I was never a huge AFI fan but this has my attention
|
| |
Haven't been able to find a leak that wasn't sktechy as fuck. I'll wait until the 20th
|
| |
not bad tbh, and i haven't enjoyed anything much by them since Sing the Sorrow
|
| |
It's alright. I'm happy that AFI has managed to keep its members intact unlike a lot of bands. That said, I really haven't cared for anything post-Sing the Sorrow.
|
| |
Me either. This was okay.
|
| |
Definitely feeling this more than Burials and to some degree Crash Love. May check out the leak but definitely this is my first 'to-buy' of 2017.

The new album is fantastic. Feed From The Floor is already one of my favorite AFI songs of all time. I loved Burials but the mix on that album is a real bummer every time I listen to it. Thankfully this album sounds a lot better in that regard. Obviously opinions are going to be all over the place, as with every AFI album, but I feel like there's a song here for pretty much every kind of AFI fan. It's got the faster, more upbeat sound in songs like Still a Stranger and Hidden Knives. The more melodic sound in songs like Feed From The Floor and Snow Cats. Even more aggressive stuff in songs like So Beneath You and White Offerings. Dumb Kids might even make a few really old school fans give a second glance.
This is honestly the best work I've heard from Adam and Jade. Adam in particular is a great (underappreciated) drummer but I've never noticed him as quickly as I have on this record.

I seem to like Burials more than people here cuz the new album really isn't so significantly better to me.
|
| |
Davey's such a fairy boy
|
| |
HYPE
|
| |
it's still weird seeing Davey not made up like a Hot Topic girl from '06
|
| |
This is the kind of video the kids in Sing Street would look to for inspiration
|
| |
I prefer Burials but album is solid.
|
| |
New album is great, but I still really liked Burials.. The Face Beneath The Waves is in my opinion one of their best songs ever
|
| |
Based off the singles, this seems like a 3.5, just like burials.
|
| |
"Davey's such a fairy boy"
He's our fairy boy dammit.
|
| |
Any harsh vocals? If not i'll give it a miss
|
| |
^ Somewhat. If you dig Davey's sound in White Offerings he gives a far better display of that in the chorus of Pink Eyes. And Still a Stranger has some in the bridge.
|
| |
Are these singles anything to go by? Because if they are, then I can't see myself liking this album as much as Burials.
|
| |
decent
when did davey start dressing like a normal person?
|
| |
The rest of the album is much better than the singles. White Offerings is one of the weaker tracks while Aurelia and Snow Cats are somewhere in the middle.
|
| |
"when did davey start dressing like a normal person?"
Around Crash Love.
