They really spell their name like that?
|
| |
It's one person and yes, so?
Song sounds a lighter version of something off Thursday. Not sure how I feel about it yet.
|
| |
after the letdown that the title track was, i'm actually really digging this
|
| |
this guy is such a scumbag. i hope portishead sues his face off.
|
| |
^lol
|
| |
So is Kanye West but people fap their dicks off for him.
|
| |
no one is like kanye west
|
| |
That is a nice mental image.
|
| |
kanye is not a scumbag.
|
| |
Those tweets are hilarious by the way
|
| |
yeah really shows how stupid the weeknd's fanbase is. so over this guy
|
| |
No wonder he declined permission to use it
|
| |
"They really spell their name like that?"
He has to spell his name like that cuz he's a little shit who had a partner and they were called The Weekend and he fucked him over and stole his ideas and become just The Weeknd
|
| |
Nigga u just a hater. The weeknd made the song way better then urs. Sit back and mourn you fagg
|
| |
dont be salty nigga cuz u couldnt make ur own song this popular
|
| |
Although The Weeknd is a bit of a dick, the use of that sample is one of the best things about the song
|
| |
Not feeling any of the new stuff, he should've quit while he was ahead it a long downhill ride from here Abel, not to mention he got the sample use denied by a legendary group and goes ahead and uses it anyways, if you weren't already a douche you certainly are now
|
| |
Cool song
|
| |
I'm predicting a 3.8/5ish
Will probably be his weakest yet
|
| |
looking forward to the album although he'll never top echoes of silence cus it is a 5
|
| |
2 songs in and everybody gives up all hope
|
| |
5 if you include the Trilogy songs
though I liked 2 of them
|
| |
FUCK THE WEEKND
|
| |
This is good
|
| |
FUCK THE WEEKND
lol at least you're up front about it
|
| |
This song really sucks. For one, that sample is very poorly used. It just sounds sloppily sped up, and for the few things that are actually done to it it really makes absolutely no sense being used in a song like this. It starts the song off by setting a gritty and hectic mood and then his vocals and synths come in over it and provide this cutesy and polished contrast to it. It's a ridiculously jarring tonal shift, doesn't work at all.
|
| |
I wouldn't have given him permission to use my sample on this song either. Not too hard to see what
Weeknd will turn into. gay.
|
| |
would have been so much better if he went an "initiation" type of feel with this track. agree with breaking. edit: fuck me
i'm singing along to it anyways help
|
| |
okay portishead
|
| |
i love the people that are like "SHUT UP UR JUS JEALISS CUZ HIS SONG IZ BETTER!!1!" ok but sampling without permission is sampling without permission.
|
| |
Abel is a douche
|
| |
Now he can continue writing songs about him/you/a girl "being/having being bad" either "last
night/tonight/this morning" after describing how much it "hurts to want" or somesshyt
|
| |
so over this guy
|
| |
seems like this guy is going down the Defeater route as far as this site is concerned
|
| |
i was actually mocking someone
|
| |
I think a big part of why i can't stand Abel now is that people overhype Abel and sell his production short. I mean, he's been featured on like a million songs since he started and he's not that great on any of them, Trilogy was absolutely retarded, and it seems like he keeps on showcasing his dumbfuckery every few months. The truth is that Abel would be nowhere without his production team but he seems to get all the credit.
Album will be a 3.5 tho.
|
| |
I feel like there's a buncha shit I don't know about so I'm just like :/ looking at these comments.
|
| |
sucks though because these tracks aren't bad but he'll get shit because he's a douche
|
| |
I'm a HUGE portishead fan and weeknd fan, so personally I really dig this track. Really digging the sample...curious to hear what portishead has to say about it though... I have high hopes for the album so far. Not understanding the sudden weeknd backlash personally, but it's whatever
|
| |
People here are overreacting so much.. I'm a fan of both artists and I can understand that he technically stole the beat and this is bad, etc. but both tracks sound good..
Not understanding the sudden weeknd backlash personally, but it's whatever[2]
|
| |
song is insanely boring
|
| |
whole site hates him since that news article that no one else in the world knows about
|
| |
It really doesn't make a difference to me if he's an asshole or not. I've just been disappointed with the very watered down and PG-13 direction he's taken his music in ever since Trilogy was released. I think the difference in quality between these two new tracks and the original mixtapes is definitely noticeable.
|
| |
yah but it's like a 3.5 rather than a 5 so still good
|
| |
I'm with fish on this... And this is far from teen pop breakingthefragile, but I do agree that this is watered down
|
| |
Yeah, it's not THAT watered down, but I'm really still hoping for material less soft material on this.
|
| |
actually caring about the lives and opinions of artists you listen to is ridiculous, I don't care if you are a child raping dictator as long as you make good jams
|
| |
But this is different since that the stuff happening in the personal lives actually involves music, which in this case, it got stolen.
|
| |
Fuck this guy. Jackass.
|
| |
I couldn't care less about the drama or issues this guy has. Decent song but I like the first one more.
|
| |
guy is a straight tool, hope he crashes hard
he's nothing without his original partner
|
| |
2011:
omg the weeknd puts out the illest shit wow this guy is amazing
2013:
FUCK THE WEEKND
|
| |
KISS LAND
|
| |
he's nothing without his original partner
his original partner produced 3 songs off 1 mixtape and apart from What You Need they're nowhere near his best tracks
I couldn't care less about the drama or issues this guy has. Decent song but I like the first one more.
this pretty much sums up how I feel
|
| |
his original partner produced 3 songs off 1 mixtape and apart from What You Need they're nowhere near his best tracks
And also gave him his entire sound
|
| |
sure, he did. I'm not saying the guy doesn't deserve credit, and that Tefaye isn't a douchebag, but he's still gone places without him
|
| |
I'm not talking about a lack of credit, but he did more than just produce 3 tracks. He developed Weeknd's whole sound
|
| |
yeah, but you can't say he's "nothing without him" when you look at what he's then done with that sound
|
| |
ain't shit gon' change
but yo ass can
|
| |
yeah, but you can't say he's "nothing without him" when you look at what he's then done with that sound
You could argue this both ways really. Yeah, he had 3 successful mixtapes - but they were all cut from the same cloth, and given the short time between releases, more than likely culled from the same sessions (read: Zodiac's influence still very much ingrained in Abel). Now, a little bit of time has past, Abel is doing his own thing, and well..... this is the result
|
| |
I can possibly see that. Especially when you listen to what Abel was doing before Rose came along.
|
| |
People judging his music because of his personality
lol
|
| |
^
|
| |
i judge people because of their personality all the time. music is about being a person, if not you're probably not listening correctly :]
|
| |
Some of these comments are really fucking retarded, but you guys had to have known that as you typed them.
Anyway, I really like this song. The title track rules hard, too.
|
| |
if we judged music based on the people involved in it, i'm pretty sure everyone would think kanye west's music is the worst shit ever. everyone listens to the weeknd for the beats and music
|
| |
Judging by the singles, Kiss Land will probably, unfortunately rule.
|
| |
This song could be huge.
Loving it.
