I can't see where all the hate comes from. Wolfmother's great. I mean, I see not liking them for Andrew's high voice or because they're not the most original band on the block, but I see almost Nickelback level hate for these guys all over. I don't see that as very necessary.

Here's where the hate comes from:
They are a carbon-copy of 70's classic rock. Their riffs sound like Zeppelin/Sabbath b-sides, which while appealing to people who fans of that band who don't mind hearing recycled music, is irritating to people like myself who love those bands (Sabbath more so in my case) and don't see why a band should be able to make a living recycling someone else's musical vision and throwing in meaningless lyrics.
They are to Zep/Sabbath what Airbourne is to AC/DC, they would be more respected as a top-knotch cover band than a second rate rip-off.

cosmic egg was in no way better than s/t. Stockdale turned into a douche after touring s/t overseas. His stage presence nowadays is downright ridiculous.

First album was good but overplayed as fuck when it came out, second album was average but not terrible. I'll check this out but I'm not expecting much. Apparently Andrew Stockdale is the biggest douchebag in Australia, which is why his past members left.

Saw them open for the Smashing Pumpkins last year. Far and away the most pathetic and yet somehow pretentious set I've ever seen. God it was awful. Luckily I got to watch Nicole Fiorentino do her thing for the rest of the night.
