And the Rody Walker-esque vocal melodies continue.

This is true, but I like it a lot more than his old style. It's a lot more interesting to listen to. I love Rody so I have no problem with Spencer following his lead. Song is awesome.
| |
Yeah i agree, song is awesome
| |
poops
| |
Pretty decent
| |
as a haunted shores instrumental this was fucking amazing. still good tho
| |
Good song
| |
dis be good
| |
such a fucking catchy song. Album will be killer
| |
Nice I'm stoked for this
| |
wow, they really took an interesting turn with this song, definitely looking forward to the album
| |
Do bluesy vocal runs, get compared to Protest The Hero.
| |
I didn't like this as much as Make Total Destroy.
| |
I think Spencer slays in this. Glad this band is finally sounding like a band and not just a project.
| |
I liked this one much more than the previous new song. Album might impress me yet.
| |
amazing song
| |
great song
| |
I liked it less.
| |
ugh so good....I haven't been this excited for a release since Dillinger's last one
| |
instrumental was so good
| |
spencer is trying so so hard to be elliot coleman though and i fucking hate elliot coleman. ugh, spencer i swear if you ruin this.
| |
I do like this a significant amount more than the last track.
Hmm.
| |
Shitty song, Make Total Destroy is way better. The first record wasn't even his style, he was purposefully copying Chris Barretto's style on the demo recordings for efficiency's sake. These are new songs, new melodies which gives him room to develop his own style. With that said, the Rody Walker similarities are unmistakeable.
| |
I like it. I think I like "Make Total Destroy" better, but this is still awesome. Got this one pre-ordered too, as well as on vinyl. These guys blew me away live. Going to be an awesome album, I think.
| |
I like this song even better than the last! I'm glad Periphery have taken this musical direction.
| |
Awkward vocal melodies on this song. I shall call him Rody Bennington.
Or Chester Walker.
| |
poops :]
| |
Pretty good. It's no Racecar though
| |
Awkward vocal melodies on this song. I shall call him Rody Bennington [2]
Or better yet, Protest the Periphery
| |
Song is awesome
| |
sounds like
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bg1hSI59zPU
with vocals
| |
Really disappointed with where Periphery is heading. Spencer is just such a shitty vocalist. It's not that fact that he is doing bluesy vocal patterns, but the fact that his new style sounds, pretty much, EXACTLY like Rody Walker's style.....there is not much originality to it at all. I just hate his voice overall. It's so scratchy and whiny all at the same time.....like nails on a fucking chalkboard.
| |
agree some of the vocal melodies are weird but I am really happy with the direction in which they are heading.
| |
"I like this song even better than the last! I'm glad Periphery have taken this musical direction."
What direction? The same direction the last record?
| |
"instrumental was so good"
yep the instrumentals from Periphery are always fine, they just really have to ditch the completely shit vocalist to eliminate all the cheese
| |
Can't listen right now, hate for Periphery is kinda undeserved.
Although, Spencer's cleans are kinda grating at times.
| |
cool
| |
Vocals have improved tremendously. Though, yeah, definitely getting a Rody Walker/Elliot Coleman vibe.
| |
Awkward vocal melodies on this song. I shall call him Rody Bennington.
LOL I love it
| |
So his voice sounds similar to someone elses. Get over it. He sounds great. I highly doubt he is going for imitation. You can help your own voice. Shut up haters.
| |
You cant*.
| |
dull
not really expecting much from the new album from what I've heard so far.
| |
Enjoyed their first album, really dug 'make total destroy' and I'm enjoying this. I understand the comparisons but I'm not that fussed about it.
| |
song is great
| |
Spencer now sound so much like Rody Walker, but it is an improvement over the first release. His vocals made the first album almost unlistenable for me.
| |
Vocals are too much like Rody. Kills the song.
| |
This ones Rody like too?
PROTEST THE PERIPHERY
| |
Fuck similarities, The vocals slay on this track. Album will rule.
| |
^ Pretty much my feelings.
| |
terrible
| |
Ha dude really does sound exactly like Rody. Lame.
| |
Instrumentally this song is really good, but I hate the vocals. They should've left this Haunted Shores song the hell alone.
| |
I like this more than the first song.
| |
I love it.
| |
Personally, I like this song more than anything off the debut.
| |
Its obvious Spencer was listening to Scurrilous a little too much while writing.
| |
Its a cool song but yeah.
| |
And it's like the vocal rhythms/melodies don't match up with the instrumentation. It's all wonky.
| |
Funny how the vox went from being the worst part of the last album to be the best part of these singles.
| |
I don't like this
| |
This is boring
| |
nope
| |
catchy song.
| |
Vocals rule and are infinitely better than before, fuck y'all.
| |
^ I think everyone agrees with you. Just the fact that his influence is blatantly obvious.
| |
I don't mind if the Rody Walker influence is written across his forehead, it's still great to listen to. I would rather him imitate someone of that singing caliber than someone from a really shitty metalcore band.
| |
I have come to the conclusion that Periphery fans can and will never be COMPLETELY satisfied with their decisions and it's fucking annoying. Penis.
| |
^
You're not entitled to everything you want out of the band. They make music for themselves, not you.
