NME Albums Of 06 Poll Released 2006-12-07 by Horrorshow34 | 11 Comments | They've won the Mercury Music Prize, Brit Awards and Q Awards but now Arctic Monkeys are able to add one more feather to their overcrowed cap - NME Album Of The Year 2006. Sheffield's biggest export bet off competition from the likes of Muse, Gnarls Barkley, The Strokes and *ahem* My Chemical Romance to top the annual magazine poll. The full top 10 can be found below:
1. Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am . .
2. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Show Your Bones

4. Hot Chip - The Warning
5. CSS - Cansei De Ser Sexy
6. Gnarls Barkley - St. Elsewhere
7. The Long Blondes - Someone To Drive You Home

The magazine also printed it's Tracks Of The 2006 list which was topped this year surprisingly by cult Electro-Pop band Hot Chip with their top 30 single 'Over And Over'. The full top 10 can be found below:
1. Hot Chip - Over And Over

There's a black metal magazine? I gotta see this, I need a good laugh today
| | | modern music=shite
| | | what a shitty list..
| | | I actually like a couple (2) of those CDs...does this mean I'm a bad person?
| | | arctic monkeys and MCR are ok..
| | | You didn't like the new Kasabian? I really enjoyed it.
| | | Horrible list, Hot Chip aren't bad, but that song (Over and Over) is the height of modern annoyance.
| | | I love 3. 6 isn't bad. Other than that, really blah.
| | | MCR is alright, though I don't like them near as much as I used too. I've always liked Kasabian but haven't heard their latest. Other than that, I'm way out of the loop as far as most mainstream music goes...so I've not heard much of this.

The Hot Chip and CSS albums are muck What gives SOP? You not like to dance?
List isn't really that bad considering it's NME, at least the Arctic Monkeys album actually warrants some praise.
| | | Arctic Monkey's are cool, the rest sucks
