That's awesome news. Hoping he can make a speedy recovery.
| |
hope he gets well soon
| |
YAY!
| |
awesome news
| |
i actually had no clue this happened, but i really do imagine what he's going to think when he's told it's been 3 years later with all of the changes and such
| |
I might donate at oneloveforchi.com, looks like they are only about 20,000 in for a 250,000 total needed.
| |
good news. hope he keeps recovering.
| |
What's sad is he probably won't ever be the same. Keep in mind they removed half his brain.
| |
3 years. wow. godspeed chi.
| |
Yessss!!!!
Can't wait till he is back.
| |
We're celebrating this man moving his left leg - and rightly so. It sure puts your life in perspective.
Hopefully he keeps recovering x
| |
Keep in mind they removed half his brain.
what? I never heard that... didn't know they were still doing that kind of thing...
| |
They removed part of it, not sure how much
| |
Great news for sure, but whether he will actually be able to play in Deftones ever again is another mystery.
| |
Great news for sure, but whether he will actually be able to play in Deftones ever again is another mystery.
The latter can wait. For now, let's just celebrate that he's on the steady road to recovery. And it's awesome.
| |
AWESOME!!!!!!!
Glad to hear he's getting at least a little better.
| |
Great news, hope the dude manages to get some form of normal life back after such a horrific thing
| |
I'd rather be dead than live with half my brain missing personally. I guess we'll see how this goes.
| |
seriously so happy when i read this
| |
excellent excellent news :-)
| |
holy shit this is unreal.
| |
this is great news, although it will most probably take another 2 or 3 years to recover almost completely. i didn't know that they have removed half of his brain, that's gonna affect him in many ways... also, i don't know how he'll return to Deftones this way
| |
Great news. Good to know he's recovering.
| |
YESYESYEYSYEYSYEYSYEYSYEYSYSYYEYYSYSY SO HAPPY! i was really worrying he might not wake up
| |
It's nice to read about a great musicians recovery, rather then a great musicians death.
| |
There's no way that he's going to be able to play again but that doesn't matter. I just hope he recovers well enough to live out the rest of his life happily.
| |
awesome news
| |
Hell ya, keep it up Chi.
| |
fantastic news, though i hope he isn't going to be the next jason becker
| |
They didn't remove half his brain, come on
| |
It's insane that he's already understanding English again.
| |
Now that's good news !
| |
I'm so glad hes recovering, I was getting worried that he might not ever get better.
| |
fucking awesome news. They should play Royal to him so he knows that Deftones still know what the fuck is up.
Such good news
| |
He'll kill himself since there's still no new Tool album.
Honestly though, good news.
| |
Amazing news, he's one tough dude for hanging in there. Props to all of the doctors that have been taking care of him as well
| |
I really hope he gets some kind of normal life back with his memory intact.
| |
I doubt it's true that they removed half his brain. Granted he'll probably never play in Deftones again, maybe 5-10 years down the line from his recovery he may be able to play simple bass lines but he's extremely unlikely to ever regain the ability he had.
Fantastic that he's on his way back to recovery though. Honestly some of the best news of the year.
| |
We shouldn't worry about Chi missing any percentage of his brain. There are several documented cases in which individuals have had significant portions of it removed and have come to live completely normal lives. His brain will--and probably is, judging by this awesome news--rewiring and rerouting itself to make up for its missing parts. He's just going to need time after he wakes up from his coma.
The point is, we should be nothing but happy for this guy. Hope he's back on his feet in no time
| |
Great news.
| |
of the greatest to be of the most high. inwardly. so it is to me that the Deftones's new release is outside of Chi "Dai" Cheng. all our prayers are to be with him in this time. oh but who knrw we were with him all along? also my help would rec Chi an Emery record for getting
| |
@Josh D. what do those last 2 sentences mean??
| |
what did any of those sentences mean?!
but seriously, this is great news. Seems overdue, but with the nature of this kind of thing, I think a serious miracle is underway.
| |
This gives me tears of joy.
| |
Fantastic news, and it's a really positive change of pace.
| |
i remember when brian headwelch, the chariot and living sacrifice threw a benefit show for chi,
was awesome
| |
There you go Chi, keep fighting
| |
this is great!!! 3 years is a long time though
| |
I doubt he'll ever return to Deftones but just to have him recover will be damn fine with me. I'm very happy that he's emerging.
| |
He'll probably never be the same, so I doubt he would replace the current bassist. They'll probably find a way to include him somehow though.
| |
Congrats to him. Hope he makes a speedy recovery.
| |
Waking up 3 years later is going to be a fucking trip for him. Whether he plays in Deftones again is irrelevant. I sincerely hope he recovers fully and can live a normal life again.
| |
i could care less if he ever plays with deftones again
i mean he's a damn good bassist, but he's also an amazing person and i just hope he can return to the way his life was before the accident
he never deserved what happened to him
| |
Great news, I hope he recovers entirely.
| |
chi is truly cheating death. what a powerful human being we have
| |
I actually now learned that they removed a portion of his skull, NOT his brain.
I wonder what this will mean for the album that Deftones refused to release due to the incident?
| |
"I actually now learned that they removed a portion of his skull, NOT his brain."
You are all ignorant beyond words.
| |
I read an article that said his brain. Yeah, SO ignorant.
| |
Referring to all this "half his brain" nonsense. Calm down.
| |
i could care less if he gets back on stage. he's a person, with friends and a family. he's not gonna finally walk out of the hospital and go directly to work. it would be a fucking miracle though
| |
yay chi's awesome.
| |
Excellent news.
| |
We really should get some priority. He's a great musician, and Deftones are awesome, but simply the fact that he's still alive is a miracle. I'm overjoyed that he could recover, and that really should be enough for you without hoping that Deftones release Eros or whatever.
| |
Best news I could have heard today!
| |
I really hope they release Eros. This is very good news. I wish for the best of him.
| |
Very excited when I heard this.
Amazing man
| |
This really is miraculous... 3 years is just... wow.
I'm pretty sure they didn't remove part of his brain, they probably just removed bone fragments in his skull to alleviate the pressure on his brain.
| |
Good to hear. Hope the man gets well soon and returns to making awesome music.
| |
Also, everyone remember to use your seatbelts. I hate to use Chi as an example, but if there's one thing we can take from this is that we should all be proactive and be sure to utilize at least the bare minimum of an auto's safety features.
| |
Moral of story KIDS. WEAR YOUR FUCKING SEAT BELT!!!!
| |
Yeah. I get really pissed when my friends don't wear seatbelts. Sometimes they call me a pussy.
| |
I don't like this band but this news is fucking great. Warms my soul to watch a man just move his leg.
| |
This is so cool.
