Sigh Guitarist Hospitalized

2010-04-06 by Tyler EMERITUS | 19 Comments
Shinichi Ishikawa, guitarist for Japanese metal band Sigh, has been hospitalized after being diagnosed with tuberculosis.

Ishikawa visited the hospital on the recommendation of frontman Mirai Kawashima after reportedly feeling under the weather. Fluid was later discovered in his lungs.

As reported on the band's official Twitter and confirmed later on their MySpace, Sigh plan to honour their upcoming Helsinki show, with bassist Satoshi sliding over to the guitar and Mirai taking up bass duties.

The band have said that their set-list will change as a result of the altered line-up, noting that it will consist mainly of Venom covers and songs from their first album, 1993's Scorn Defeat.

Never really got into this band, but it's cool that they still plan to preform live.

Too bad, but I'm pretty sure that these days a well equipped hospital can take care of turberculosis no problem. Hope those Helsinki fans are into Sigh's old stuff....and I guess Venom too.

It's pretty awesome that the other members can just slide in and take over.

It's a pretty smart decision, usually Miari does vocals and keyboards, but doing an album live that doesn't incorperate keyboards an effects makes sense. Either way, I hope the guitarist recovers.

Mirai is still doing vocals, but Mikannibal actually does much of the Venom cover vocals.
