Two New Ozzy Osbourne Records 2006-08-22 by Stormy Smiley Face | 6 Comments | Ozzy Osbourne has announced that he will not only be release one record next year, but two. The first is the standard Ozzy solo album and comes out in February. The music was layed down back in May and Ozzy is currently putting his vocals to record. The next album, and this suprised me, will be the soundtrack to Ozzy's musical, "Rasputin". Yes, it is about the Russian politician.
Here's a quote from Ozzy in an interview:
"We wrote a song called 'Rasputin' (for the 1995 Ozzmosis album), but then it never got used, you know, and then every now and again I'd try to find this tape of songs. We wrote a bunch of songs, and I put this tape on and thought, 'You know what? That would be a great musical.' It kind of grew on its own. It’s the traditional Fiddler on the Roof type of music, plus the kind of Beatley kind of influence. There’s this wonderful song that goes, 'How dark it is before the dawn, the day begins, a child is born'. It’s beautiful. I’m really happy about it. I hope the rest of the world is. I spent 10 years of my f—king life in this thing."

Mixed mediums can have some interesting results, such as Arsis contributing music for a ballet, but I'm a bit skeptical that Ozzy has the versatility to pull this off. Good for him for trying something different though.
| | | To be exact Rasputin was more of a con-artist that a politician. Like a Russian Charles Manson, really. Not that you care...
| | | This is interesting, I'll love to see how it turns out and all. Don't really trust people involved in reality TV much these days......
| | | Wow. Watch this be Ozzy's last album.
| | | I look froward to this, I'm an Ozzy fan through and through.
| | | Rasputin was not a politician. He just had a huge influence on the Tsar and Tsaritsa.
