Sounds alright, but you can't judge it on a 30 second clip. Expecting to be dissapointed by the album tbh.

First in long line of people who hoped this would be RATM-related.

Average preview, going to check the album out anyway when it comes out. And yeah, the youtube comments really are gold.

Yeah the comments made me lawl.

"People are complaining that this isn't typical agressive punk. They're rich, why should they be angry?"

lol Green Day never were agressive, even their faster songs like St Jimmy are meant to be more fun than agressive.

30 secs is way to long, i can give green day about 5 secs of my time. then spend the other 25 secs writing comments about how bad they have become, i think green day and U2 should tour together and it could be sponsered by clear pepsi.

It's basically a single verse, so judging the song would be foolish.
I'm just gonna say I nether loved it or hated it, simply going to wait for the full version.

Oh, and it sounds like rock n roll train by ACDC...

I know what my enemy is...it's high school drop outs that pretend to be politically saavy and preachy...wait they're not pretending to be preachy...they are.

Big green day fan though so I'll get this.

Could be better than American Idiot or could be more political drivel. I wait with bated breath...This Message Edited On 04.06.09

Review it anyways. The boys need some love, and they certainly aren't getting it here (or from me).

It's embarassing that I first listened to American Idiot in its entirety about four years after it was released

New album will hopefully be cool

I'm never very enthusiastic about any band's singles to begin with. This one was okay. I've heard better. But I'll listen to the album itself before I hop on the bitch train with everyone else.

While I'm on the topic, it's very funny to me that anytime I crack a joke at Metallica's expense (not that often these days), at least a dozen people have to start complaining about it. But as soon as the words "green" and "day" are used in the same sentence, this site is overcome with a tsunami of estrogen. God I love being better than other people.

it does seem that most of the green day hate on this site stems far more from misguided musical elitism than the band's actual music..

No, it's because it's pretty much 3 different chords repeated over and over again for 30 seconds, but this time it's slower.

I'm the first to admire technical musical talent and speed in bands such as Dream Theatre, megadeth whatnot.

however Green Day have such a simple forumla that just works. Billie picks his chords very carefully and has a very less in more approach. Everything in a green day album is there for a reason and it works wonders. and what the hell, Music is FUN, a great band makes people sing a long and have a bloody good time at a concert.

rant over.

I don't see how that 30 second clip was in any way fun. I like Dookie, and to a lesser extent Insomniac and Nimrod, but this is just horrible. It doesn't sound inspired at all

I completely agree. but then try the 90 second one. its much more fun and he does a growl/scream/raises his voice.

"he does a growl/scream/raises his voice."

I actually said out loud "what was that?" when that happened. And how is this any different from 7ish songs off of American Idiot? Besides the lack of the non-member guitarist doing a solo in the video.

Hmm I'll have to find that version then. I'm still not too optomisitic about this, but I am being too hasty in judging off of a 30 second clip. It was probably just the initial disgust with it made me want to lash out : /
