i wasn't aware of this. ugh

This is awesome.

Acoustic?
Does he sing the whole time? No screaming?
This saddens me if it is true.

A US release is scheduled for May 15.
Dang, we get to listen to it over a month early. Nice.
Rasputin or Thor should review this, assuming me, Crysis or Balls don't get to it first.

I believe it's all singing (I'm guessing the female members do this) and all acoustic/folk instrumentation. There's more on previous news items.

I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo getting this
this is seriously exactly what I hoped what they would do.
Major respect to them.

I wish they would do what Opeth did. Release oen soft album and then one heavy album.
THAT would be awesome.
|
| |
Still not as good as Urminnes Havd but it's a bit better than I figured it would be.
|
| |
excellent

I just listened to some of the songs on their last.fm page; they're a laugh a minute.

That's what they're doing pretty much. One folk, one all metal.

Don't kill me please...free speech!:
I loved Slania but this doesn't sound too good. The new Elvenking is much better. I'll give the all-metal album a shot if they do one, though.
|
| |
Ha ha no. Elvenking blow massively.
|
| |
in all free speech respect, screw Elven king. I like Eluveitie's new acoustic album, but i'm glad to hear they will be returning to metal after. Yeah Thor, hop on this review bro.

There is screaming (though it's pretty limited, and not really part of the lyrics). Also, it's not acoustic as in one dude strumming a lute. It at times has a pretty heavy sound. A couple passages of certain tracks sound like straight metal, which is an impressive feat given that there (to my knowledge) are no distorted guitars on the album. Also, this is substantially better than Elvenking. This Message Edited On 04.03.09

Oh, then....AWESOME!
|

I saw a video from this album and it made me chuckle, I might give it a listen but their Dark Tranquillity meets Braveheart music gets old rather quickly. Then again, all gimmick metal gets old quickly.
|
| |
Folk metal in egenral is a gimmick, Eluveitie are just better than the majority. At least Spirit is a fine peice of folk metal done right.
|
| |
yeh...folk metal is indeed a gimmick and usually a short-lived pleasure, but still very enjoyable most of the time. I still think that the new Elvenking is better though. There are obvious parallels between the 2 bands as they've released more metal oriented material in the past but both of their new releases are 100% folk. While Elvenking sucked before and this new direction suits them, I think the opposite is true for Eluveitie.
|
| |
Awesome! God, I love them! I like the fact that they're doin' it a little more 'acoustic', it's something different and whatever they do, Eluveitie always delivers their music at its best.

So, yah, this is cool. I want to buy a shirt and this album.
