Exactly. How are people going to say they don't like it with so little time spent on it. Some people are just resistent to change. We've had access to this for a few weeks and it grows on you. There are a lot of benefits to the new layout.

Don't think the site should be brightened. You're not reading a book. After enough time it gets harsh on the eyes.

New design is great. Like the addition of listing new posts on sections other than albums.

Only thing I don't like is the "Your Discussions" and "Your Submissions" part seems messed up. It doesn't show who posted last in the topic.

Fixed the page issue

I really really like it. Everything except for the fact that there are no sub genres page. I loved being able to access music by sub genre. Definitely should be added back on.This Message Edited On 02.22.09

I like the layout, just kinda miss the lack of color (especially the red band names in the news links). Also, I hate "Ariel" font on main sites. There are much more attractive alternatives that look as professional and are just as readable.

Roinator, make sure when you log in that the website is 'www.sputnikmusic.com' and not 'sputnikmusic.com'

big difference. The second one will 'log you out' when you click on other links within the site.

layout's cool, except the features are way too low on the page. understandable if that's where they go when they're older, but for new stuff, hopefully they go up top somewhere.

I love the new posts section, always wanted a way to keep discussion going on lists. Before the list pretty much stopped having conversation once it left the main page, but now you can see recent comments which should be good.

One thing, though. The star ratings seem strange. They should be able to measure in half-star increments. Also, what's going to happen with average ratings? Lets say an album is at 3.7. Will it just round up to 4 stars?

I really like the new lay-out and don't mean to be a partypooper but I'd hope you made a change about the fact that when you're logged out (and forgot to sign in) so you're checking a list or review and wish to leave a comment. The second you do this a new window opens and you log in into that and the comment page appears in the new window. It's kind of irritating. It would be better if the current window just changes into the log in screen and when you log in you go back to the list or review you were about to comment on. Sorry for saying that, the rest rocks!

The color palette is a little more harsh than the old one. The colors were much softer in the old one and easier to look at. I think there's also too much going on at once. And what happened to the subgenres in each genre section?

looking at user reviews from the homepage only displays 1,2,3,4 or 5 stars, so if someone writes a 4.5 for example, all you'll see is a 4, and it's dumb. At least go back to just having numbers at the side instead of the stars.

^^ this definitely. It's hard to make out the scores. I also wish a score was listed for soundoffs. That's how I decide whether I want to read them or not.

^^^Actually I like the stars. I wouldn't mind keeping them. Just cut the star image in half and make half stars. I don't see what is hard about that.

Another suggestion for news items is that I think the band names in news items should be highlighted/bolded like in the old layout. It makes scanning through the news much easier to find what interests you.

How about instead the guys at Sputnik do their best to fix that travesty of a search option that this site has. Yeah
