| | | roughly half this list is really good. but i can't get over how everyone is putting lil wayne so damn high up.
| | | I don't get MGMT...like that album is just far too inconsistent. Lil' Wayne is an interesting argument though...
| | | yeah Oracular was a play, skip, play album throughout. 10 is pretty generous. and Hot Chip at 8 is as well.
| | | Lil Wayne is darn popular among the critics. TV On The Radio is good, but I personally don't like their album as much as the rest of the world. But it's whatev.
| | | these lists are getting really repetitive
| | | damn awful list
| | | Most of these albums have 1-4 kickin' tracks (exceptions being several which have 0-0 kickin' tracks) but few would make my top 50 list. i feel like every pick is making a statement compared to praising an outstanding album

these lists are getting really repetitive
quoted for truth
With all these lists I might listen to the Fleet Foxes album just to see what is up with the mass whoring.
| | | the fact that Bon Iver is 31 and gets beat by a LOT of far inferior albums makes me sad.
Why do all these critics love Kings of Leon and Black Kids
One is incredibly mediocre and the other is incredibly bad.
| | | KoL album's sick
| | | List is meh

Great originality on your part.
surprised no one said fail yetThis Message Edited On 12.15.08
| | | Win for FINALLY seeing R.E.M.'s album on one of these lists
| | | GENERIC LIST IS GENERIC...
AND FAIL
| | | Bon Iver should be in the top 20...
And why doesn't At Mount Zoomer get the love it deserves?
| | | how the hell are lil wayne and GnR on this list?
| | | seriously i dont get the hype around lil wayne, i just cant comprehend how it comes every 2nd critic thinks the carter 3 was so awesome?
ok, taste differs or maybe i just dont GET it...but its a mystery to me....
| | | At Mount Zoomer is pretty bland and the R.E.M. album is TERRIBLE
Lil' Wayne has a sexy voice
| | | "Win for FINALLY seeing R.E.M.'s album on one of these lists"
That album isn't that good.
As for the list, same as most other publication's lists. Theres a fair amount of good albums taking a glance look at the whole thing. However, the placement of the actual albums is pretty off, and for every two good albums there is an album that is a piece of garbage. This Message Edited On 12.15.08
| | | Half of this list is good. Good to see TV On The Radio making every possible list this year. But I hardly think Chinese Democracy deserves 2. It was good, but nothing this year hasn't already shown us.
| | | this must be the 4th list ive said this but WHY THE FUCK ARE BLACK KIDS ON HERE
| | | cuz its cool for these critics to love such an Pitchfork-introduced band.
it makes them hip.
| | | Wow, Spin picked good records, top 10 is pretty solid.
| | | lists like this just remind me of how alienated i am from popular music. if the rest of the world loves it, it's usually at best just okay. i don't understand why people like lil' wayne, i don't understand the appeal of coldplay, metallica hasn't done anything worth hearing in ages... i just.. i must be missing something.
