Why does everybody like this so much??? Not only does it not fit with the music at all, but the story is pathetic. And the fact that half the video is animated and half isn't only makes things worse

Agreed. You'd think with their gold-plated shark tanks and private jets, Metallica could afford a wee bit more. The song is also really long but nothing really happens... The chorus is pretty damn catchy though I must say.

All I could think during the whole thing was, "is this a joke?"

I don't really see why its a problem that it has nothing to do with the song. I think you guys are just looking for a reason to bash it, and can't think of anything else.

The song is good, and the video is at least entertaining (I watched the whole thing). And the chemtrails thing at the end was obviously kind of unexpected.

I thought the intensity of the song matched the intensity of the video pretty well.

I actually liked that video, but it didn't really correspond with the music well at all. Maybe I just don't like the song though.

I thought it was good

It would've been better if they found a way to make it work without subtitles. Trying to read the plot, watch whats happening, and listen to the music, is a lot to take in and still enjoy the whole experience.
that being said, the video had its moments... just like the song did.
