Travis Barker In Recovery

2008-09-23 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 15 Comments
Former Blink-182, current +44 drummer Travis Barker is expected to make a full recovery from a shock plane crash that killed four people on Saturday.

Barker was travelling on a lear jet from a concert in Columbia, South Carolina, when it veered off the runway and crashed into an embankment, catching fire. It is supposed that one of the jet's tyres had blown out while taxiing and the pilot had attempted to abort takeoff.

Four people died in the crash- the pilot, co-pilot, Barker's assistant and his security guard- while both the drummer and friend DJ AM (real name Adam Goldstein), formerly of the rap-rock group Crazy Town escaped by sliding down the wing of the aircraft following the impact.

Barker, who experienced second- and third-degree burns to his legs, is expected to make a full recovery within the next year. Goldstein was subjected to burns on his hands and head and is also expected to recover.

There's actually a video of the crash online, it may not be appropriate to post in here but if you want to edit it in, here's the link:

still woulda been cool to see.

Kinda eeire how the only survivors were the musicians, and not the, i guess, "unimportant" people, as mean and ruthless as that sounds.

I've read that the 4 people who died were in a different part of the plane than Barker and AM, hence why it seems eerie.

Either way, it's incredible sad. I have no idea why anyone would grab their cameraphone and post a plane crash on YouTube rather than use the phone to call the police. The only news I want to hear is they both recover and are back on their feet.

I'm glad he's recovering, would have sucked to add more to the recent musician death toll.
