Burial comes out 2008-08-06 by Iai EMERITUS | 9 Comments | Perhaps in anticipation of winning this year's Mercury Music Prize and not being able to actually pick the thing up, Burial posted a bulletin on his MySpace account today announcing his real name. As suspected, after the information was leaked by The Independant and BMI a few months ago (not to mention Hot Chip), his real name is William Bevan. Those who suspected foul play after finding out that a Google search for William Bevan returns a funeral director as the top match will be disappointed to know that it's just a funny coincidence, and that Burial is not in fact Thom Yorke, or Aphex Twin, or Kode9, or any of the other crazy suggestions being thrown around.

for a while theres been some talk about who i am , but its not a big deal
i wanted to be unknown because i just want it to be all about the tunes.
over the last year the unknown thing become an issue so im not into it any more.
