Velvet Revolver Fire Scott Weiland

2008-04-01 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 27 Comments
Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and Dave Kushner have announced their split with singer Scott Weiland due to the increasingly strenuous nature of their working relationship. Weiland is scheduled for an extended tour of North America this summer with Stone Temple Pilots.

Finally. I think if they get a better singer they'll be a better band...instead of this mainstream rock nonsense they've got going on now. Most supergroups just never live up to what they could be...

Imagine if they got their original choice? Mike Patton in Velvet Revolver? To bring his eclectic style to a band that's basically mainstream now could have some awesome impact on radio rock.

I liked their first album. Was one of my favorite albums 3-4 years ago.

I never got their 2nd, but wasn't really into the singles much. It was more accessible, not as dark sounding.

remember when they said if Led Zeppelin went on tour they would tour with them. I think they meant that Robert Plant is going to be the new singer.. Not gonna happen but imagine.

It'd be some prank, considering Weiland said it would be VR's last tour onstage, weeks ago or something.

Scott can get do better anyway, he's by far the most talented member tbh
I hope they get some unknown dude who rocks
Or Chris Cornell, that'd be funny.

If they want Chris Cornell might as well just get the guy from Operator. He's basically a Cornell clone/ fighter. I don't know, never really listened to this band other than the radio song on occasion.

Yes, I have been waiting for this for awhile. Hopefully, they will go write a decent album.

If Scott is the most talented member my shit is green. This Message Edited On 04.01.08

I have a felling this is rubbish, but it would be cool for cornell to take over, i didnt think weiland did a particulary good job. I cant take v.r seriously, they remind me of spinal tap for some reason. (seem false)

I wonder what they would've been like had Myles Kennedy actually chosen to join them instead of declining. Oh well, haven't been able to interest me yet.
