QUEEN TO ROCK COSMOS WITH NEW ALBUM

The first studio album in 13 years to carry the Queen name has been announced.

The Cosmos Rocks will feature Paul Rodgers, who joined the legendary band as frontman after Freddie Mercury's death.

It will be the first album since Made in Heaven was released in 1995, which featured Mercury's last material.

Queen also announced a new four-month tour with Rodgers, starting in September.

A spokesman said Brian May, Roger Taylor and Rodgers had already recorded the album.

John Deacon retired from the music business in the late 1990s and chose not to participate in the Queen And Paul Rodgers tour.

The tour will cover 14 countries in seven weeks.

I don't know if this is good or bad, but I do know that for me no one can replace Freddie. I probably won't check this out.

Old news about the album. Rodgers is technically a waaaaaaaay better singer but Freddie's voice sounded better imo. I love em both, so excited!!!! =D

I heard about this a while ago, not really excited at all...Queen without Mercury isn't Queen.

This might suck. I barely really liked Queen anyways, tbh. Get Down Make Love was sick though.

Paul Rodgers' voice sucks.

I think his voice is quite nice.

This is misleading. Firstly Rodgers did not join "after Freddie Mercury's death." Mercury died in 1991 and Rodgers has only played with Roger and Brian since 2005 (or thereabouts). Secondly, strictly speaking it is not a Queen album, but Queen and Paul Rodgers - QPR (hooray for Queens Park Rangers). As the remaining band members have repeatedly insisted, Rodgers is not replacing Mercury as no-one ever could. But having said that, I agree it is hard to avoid the comparisons. I hope this album is good - but remember that Queen have virtually never been received well by the critics.

Calling a band without Freddie Queen is just wrong. Not to knock the talent of the rest of the band, but it was Freddie who made Queen Queen.

Queen without Freddie is like RATM without Zach De La Rocha...and we all know how THAT turned out.

****ing dick-face sellouts

Since their second album Queen have always been a commercial band. In fact, the centre of their commercial success was Freddie Mercury - so what is new?
