Arctic Monkeys Triumph At BRITs 2008-02-21 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 7 Comments | Arctic Monkeys were the big winners at Wednesday's 2008 BRIT Awards, taking home the gongs for Best British Group and Best British Album for Favourite Worst Nightmare.
Also in receipt of two awards were Take That, who took home Best Live Act and Best British Single for 'Shine,' and Foo Fighters, who won Best International Group and Best International Album for Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace.
Grammy sweepstress Amy Winehouse performed twice on the night, but was denied an award for Best British Single, as Take That triumphed over Winehouse and Mark Ronson's rendition of the Zuton's 'Valerie.' Ronson did, however, walk home with the Best British Male gong.
Paul McCartney was in receipt of the Lifetime Achievement Award, 19-year old Adele was adorned with the Critic's Choice, while Rihanna and Klaxons delivered a spirited mash-up of their hits 'Umbrella' and 'Golden Skans.'

Adele has one good song, her album sucks ass
Kate NAsh and MArk Ronson's awards are jokes, especially seeing as Ronson is hardly an actual solo artist - I mean all his songs are 'duets'/collaborations anyway
And wehen have the BRITs ever really mattered?
| | | Ronson is a DJ not an artist.
| | | Lol, not yet.
| | | Neither does Ronson...
And what does that have to do with anything? Lol
| | | Yeah...but Kanye's ego probably makes him think he can play any instrument.
| | | I imagine he probably can
And its not an ego, his head is big to fit his enormous genius-like brain, duh...
| | | Lol nice one.
