Built To Spill drummer dies 2006-05-27 by Iai EMERITUS | 2 Comments | Idaho newspaper [u]The Idaho Statesmen[/i] reported on May 20th that Andy Capps, drummer of Built To Spill for 1994's sophomore album There's Nothing Wrong With Love, was found dead at his home on the 18th.
No autopsy has been carried out as yet, and the cause of death remains unclear.
Capps' time in the band was short-lived, thanks to band leader Doug Martsch's insistence (at the time) on having a completely different line-up for every BTS album. However, his replacement, Scott Plouf, went on to be a permanent member of the group. Capps went on to collaborate in several local projects, including solo albums by other former BTS members.
A memorial service is to be held on June 10th in the band's hometown of Boise.
