A New Chapter For Power Trip 2026-10-09 by John Marinakis CONTRIBUTOR | 5 Comments | Power Trip have released Precinct 3 and Scavenger, their first new recordings since vocalist Riley Gale’s death in 2020.
Released through Blue Grape Music, the double single marks the band's recording debut with Seth Gilmore of Fugitive and Skourge, who began performing with Power Trip in late 2023.
The tracks were recorded at Empire Sound in Carrollton, Texas, with producer Jacob Hansen and co-producer Blake Ibanez. Precinct 3 examines unchecked authority, while Scavenger addresses people who exploit others’ work and accomplishments.
Ibanez explained that considering what Gale would have wanted to write about helped guide the lyrics and gave the band a way to honor him while moving forward.
Precinct 3 arrives with a video directed by Eric Richter. Both songs preview a new studio album expected in spring 2027 and will also be available as a limited seven-inch single.

Production is way too clean.
This might be the reason neither one of these songs are clicking with me. Manifest Decimation and Nightmare Logic are two of my most listened to albums, and these songs just feel a little bit off. They're good, but I just can't quite put my finger on it...
