Tony Iommi Braves the Storm 2026-10-01 by John Marinakis CONTRIBUTOR | 6 Comments | Tony Iommi has released "Stormwatcher," the second single from his forthcoming solo album, "From the Dark," due October 23 through BMG.
Following "World Alone," the song features vocalist Jørn Lande and an animated video created by Budapest's CUB Animation. Its narrative follows a ship caught in a storm, using the voyage as a metaphor for life's struggles, sorrow and pursuit of new possibilities.
Lande contributes vocals throughout the album and shares songwriting credits on every song. The recording lineup also includes bassist Becky Baldwin and drummer Karl Brazil, with Iommi co-producing alongside longtime collaborator Mike Exeter.
"From the Dark" is Iommi's first solo album since 2005's "Fused," which featured Glenn Hughes and Kenny Aronoff. It contains eight songs, while the deluxe CD adds "Scent of Dark" and an extended version of "Deified."
