Eternal Lord return 2025-05-02 by Viraemias | 8 Comments | Sixteen years after disbanding, UK metalcore band Eternal Lord have officially announced their return via Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/eternallord_
The band revealed they’ve begun rehearsing, recording demos, and are eager to return to the stage.
Originally active during the mid-2000s MySpace era, Eternal Lord made a name for themselves between 2006 and 2008 with their blistering blend of deathcore and metalcore. In April 2007, they joined All That Remains on the Fall of Ideals European Tour, sharing the bill with Textures and Misery Signals.
In 2008, drummer Stuart McKay abruptly left the group just before a scheduled U.S. tour alongside The Acacia Strain, All Shall Perish, and Since The Flood. Around the same time, vocalist Ed Butcher (formerly of The Hunt for Ida Wave and I Killed the Prom Queen) also departed to pursue a career as a firefighter.

It's been 20 years...
| | | woah no way, sick
| | | Well it would be sick if butcher was back with them
| | | Niceeee. Was bumping Set Your Anchor the other day
| | | Classic band
| | | Butcher was by all accounts a cunt to be around but he had some beastly vocals.
If he's not part of the new lineup then I'm not real excited about it
| | | Needs Butcher on vocals to be worthwhile
| | | Just came across this 2006 performance, Ed’s vocals were incredible https://youtu.be/tyJZNtGnpVc?si=NXjREvoGX9IAu83R
