Daughtry Is Dreaming 2025-04-30 by Shamus CONTRIBUTOR | 4 Comments | "Dreaming of the day I die," says Chris Daughtry on his band's newest single "THE DAY I DIE," released on Friday via Big Machine Records. Presumably the lead single to the band's expected forthcoming EP Shock to the System, Part 2, after Part 1 arrived in September, the track continues Daughtry's progression towards lyrically dark and sonically heavy material, boasting of punishing instrumentals and screamed vocals from the American Idol alum on the outro.

I actually think this album could shape up to be his best work. The guy has always gotten a bad wrap for being on AI, but he's got a solid vocal.

Common Daughtry W as of late. I will say, this is the first song that made me genuinely worry if he's okay. He's been open about losing his mother and daughter in the span of a week but the lyrics just keep getting darker
